we do know it was wetter, then much drier. Evidence such as seeds and plant types found at various sites and other archaeological proofs are what created the theory as to why they all bailed.
Sure, it could be "Aliens!" or really bad neighbors, but the coincidence between their earliest artifacts being in much wetter times and near the end, much drier makes the theory credible at least.
It's a matter of perspective. Is California "getting drier" or simply returning to "normal" after a century of "wetter than normal" rainfall? It's a strong possibility that the gringos and "manifest destiny" simply arrived at an unusually wet "moment" in geological history.
FixedWater can still be wasted. The closed system is worldwide. But locally it's a finite resource at times. And there are certainly wasteful uses of the water we have stored.
We should treat water as a lot more precious of a resource than we doat times like this.
2006 was exactly the last time I remember that there was a lot of rain. Like 2 months straight around Feb, if not 3 months. Then of course it stopped as usual until Nov 2006.
yadda yadda yeah I know 2-3 winters ago there was a lot of snowfall. not as much evident rain as 2006 though.
Nick, I don't see the option, "Whatever, global warming is a conspiracy!!!"
that's pretty scary indeed..
Light showers forecast for Tuesday, I hear.
/ Throws keyboard, gears up, heads out to get one more ride in (just in case winter is coming late).
Just remember that they will make snow somewhere and be happy.i was rock climbing yesterday and felt like 3 drops of rain. i was shocked. then i realized that i had been ignoring the blatant rain clouds overhead cuz i no longer expect it to feel or look like winter outside. and yet, it still didnt rain.
