Zucherberg's Wall

Zuckerberg has to be the biggest self centered douche out of all the tech uber douches. Cracks me up when he tweets out his plans for the new year, what book he's reading, what hat he's gonna buy, etc. Like anyone fucking cares.

Fake news or not, giving up citizenship wouldn't help him avoid taxes. If you are in the US in any capacity (citizen, resident, or non-resident) for more than 180 days in a calendar year, you are required to file taxes.

If he moved out of the US, then relinquished citizenship, he could avoid paying, but he would run into problems if he tried to return here other than for a short vacation.

Saverin did give up his citizenship, the year Facebook went public I think.
But what a greedy bastard. Even after paying taxes he was still a billionaire with more money than he could ever spend. If he wanted every penny for another startup it would be more difficult to pull that off while no longer having access to the US. I assume he had it all thought out.

Insisting his name be on the SF hospital bugs the shit out of me. Not just him of course, but whatever happened to benevolent anonymous or at least behind-the-scenes benefactors???? Probably every significant museum or art gallery in the country of any age had a big bux donor at the heart but they were happy with St. Louis this, or New York that....whatever.

Or maybe it was done in his honor not his insistence. He should have refused dammit. Get off my lawn.

Adding in: I guess he was keeping up with the Benioffs, now that I think of it.

Yup. Danny Thomas founded something and it's called St Jude's Children's Hospital. Zuckerberg donates and of course, it had to be called Zuckerberg...:wtf
 
While I wouldn't say it's a daily thing, it's not uber-unusual for folks in the high-rent neighborhoods to do this. I had a project along 17 mile drive and there was at least one active lawsuit for exactly this thing there at the time. I had heard there were others.

What's really strange is when I went to tear down and re-build my garage, I had a survey done. My building and fence was well over the property line--like by feet. Oopsies! (Had been done decades ago before I purchased the home.) When I went into the building department to pull the permit, I told them that the new construction would be correcting this issue. They told me that if I'd never notified the neighbors, and that if no one had complained about it formally, that I could (after some period of time--and I was well within that time-frame) take the land for myself. I declined saying that I'd rather have happy neighbors than a larger yard.
