This all part of his plan but it's wrapped up in a feel good article. He got what he wanted, names of the owners and now those owners must take ownership of the land. Both federally and locally by law. It's all a ploy to have the owners shot themselves in the foot and that's when the Z will act.

The correct response is "that is how it works" stronger civilizations exploit weaker civilizations.

The idea that Hawaii belongs to the Monarchy is a bit curious. The US was in existence at the time Kamehameha imposed his rule on the separate nations that now make up the state of Hawaii. Likewise interesting is that "White Americans" lived on the Islands prior to the Monarchy.

Polynesians colonized the Hawaiian Islands around the 4th Century. The Tahitians conquered them around the 12th century. The Europeans took control around the end of the 19th century.

Why do the Islands belong to the Hawaiians (Tahitians)?

Is it a moral or ethical problem when one civilization destroys another? How many years must pass before a groups is considered indigenous or has claim to the land?

Depends on the race of those who consider themselves native. I remember in San Diego a group of teens tortured an illegal Mexican immigrant because he was a "foreigner". One of the teens had family that escaped from Cuba :|

That was my point in a way. Claims to land and status as indigenous is fluid and subjective.

I'm tired of hearing the rhetoric of grievances. I am particularly tired of hearing it from folks who have little to no knowledge of history or context.

Much of the Israeli/Zionist vs Palestinian/Islamist conflict follows the claim of Wrongs outside the reality of history.

It is intellectually dishonest and removes the power to improve or convince.

Some of this is responsible for the radicalization of the electorate:

I think I understand his motivation. Although he is arguing from a position he believes is right and productive, I believe it is not accurate or helpful.

I respect him more than most anyone on the board, it doesn't mean we have to agree.

There are no "private" beaches in Hawaii. The Hawaiian Supreme Court has ruled on that numerous times. My Brother in law lives on Kauai: just ignore the no trespass signs, hop the gate, cut or tunnel under the cyclone: the State's got your back.
