Got a Ticket for FasTrak "Toll Evasion" on GG Bridge

Your in the right, don't pay them a dime. in fact send them a bill for the cost of postage for you having to send a second letter explaining your side get the bill notarized and send it registered mail :x probably cost more than $6 but its the principle of the matter at hand.

As long as it wasn't Thanksgiving, no carpool on holidays, definitely fight that. The Golden Gate Bridge district is such a scam. The board of directors rake in a 6 figures for working a few days a month. The bridge is basically used to subsidize the bus service and a number of other services.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to try and contest it one more time, hopefully I can find a # and talk to someone in person. If that doesn't work I'll pay the $6 and let it go. Those guys can slap all kinds of penalties on you and next thing you know you can't register your bike until you pay $400 or something ridiculous. Not worth it.

Pay the $6.00 admitting no wrong and bill them $24.36 for your time and postage.:laughing

I like the idea of the check with the declaration of douchebaggery, if for nothing else than a smug sense of self-satisfaction. I got a parking ticket in Walnut Creek a while back and instead of making the check out as instructed to "Walnut Creek Parking", I made it out to "Walnut Creek Parking Nazis". They accepted the payment. :teeth

For your own sake pay the $6 and save the hassle. For everyone else's, fight it tooth and nail. :thumbup

Best post of the thread! :thumbup

Honestly, they probably didn't even read it.

just call them, they are normally very reasonable on the phone.

How much is your time worth? You can fight it, or just put it behind you..... Life is too short to worry about the little shit....

I disagree..

I think if people didn't do anything about little issues such as this one, then the GG Transit Authority would pull this crap more....fight for your rights.

I'm not saying just give up your rights.... just how much is your time worth.

There are plenty of things to fight for in this world... 6 bucks seems small.

Good luck OP

i got tagged at gg bridge, same thing fastrack didn't work, got the 25 buck ticket ended up just paying the 6 bucks

I got one of those letters accompanied by a blurry picture of a Harley whose number plate had a couple digits in common with my BMW. A letter cleared it up.

I'd send them another letter. Yes it's only $6 but its worth some of your time to keep them honest.

don't pay the $6, its not enough to go to collections. Or send them somthing like this:

Urm, that's not a '2' - it's e^(pi*i), which is -1. The check is worth 0.002 dollars, which, according to verizon, is the same as 0.002 cents.

:nerd

May as well just bend over. It's just a dick in your ass, not worth the trouble of complaining. That's a good sheep.

plenty when I used to live in the bay area and shuttled a rather frail old lady whose family couldn't be bothered to put up with grandma's dementia and diapers to take her to appointments and social gatherings.
if memory serves I got at least 8 such letters
just to shut them up I paid the first one. figured, what the heck, its only a couple of bucks and not worth my time. they kept coming. and it was an argument every time, including having to show paperwork about her appts I'd driven her to.
she was a small lady but she wasn't invisible.
