MAJOR MATH FAIL! The person who wrote the explanation has no idea that e ^ (i * pie) is not the same as e ^ (2 * pie). If he had taken complex analysis in college then he would have know that e ^ (i * pie) = -1.

Pie?

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to try and contest it one more time, hopefully I can find a # and talk to someone in person. If that doesn't work I'll pay the $6 and let it go. Those guys can slap all kinds of penalties on you and next thing you know you can't register your bike until you pay $400 or something ridiculous. Not worth it.

try $501.00 to court, and then $250 to dmv if i ever wanna ride my bike on the street again.

all over a simple fix it reg ticket !!!!

Yeah, it's only a very tiny dick in your ass. So small, you'll barely even feel it. That tiny, tiny, uninvited dick. In your ass. :teeth

:wtf ....

i get your point.. but damn never expected to realize it with these combinations of words

Fight it! Since a human probably hasn't looked at it yet, you haven't used up more than $6.00 of the GGBA's time in salary.

My goal in fighting crap like this is to extract at least as much in salary out of them as they get from me even if I lose.

58 in a 40, ~$400 fine, dismissed
failure to curb wheels in SF, $60 dismissed
sidewalk parking with moto in SF, $100 dismissed

I probably spent at least $560 of my time fighting these tics this year, but my bank account definitely has $560 more $USD than it would have and the state wasted a lot more than $560.00 in salary by giving me the BS tickets

Thank you for keeping a state employee employed. :thumbup

i dont think many people know they can fight these things.

There was a time i didn't pay one of those tickets, turned into a $77 ticket. I couldn't register the car until I paid it... and these guys are a pain in the ( . ) to deal with. Pay the $6, and file it under 'sometimes life's a bitch'. I just put my bike under my fastrak account now. Maybe a good idea.

Really? How often does this really happen....

it happens a lot.

i was given the same type of ticket about 4 years ago. "toll violation" during car pool hours while riding my motorcycle. I wrote them a letter telling them (in nicer words) that they were idiots for ticketing motorcycles for "running the toll" during carpool hours when motorcycles dont have a toll to pay.

They never sent me anything back, ever. so they dropped it

funny that this shit seems to happen "a lot," but I've never heard stories of anyone getting tagged for accidentally (or purposely) blowing the toll by going through the bus lane (on the bay bridge).

I've done that twice (once on my bike, once in a cage), both times accidentally. didn't get a ticket either time. and whenever I tell someone about it they seem to have a story about how that happened to someone else they know.

lastly, I thought you had to be IN the carpool lane to take advantage of the free pass. I've only found myself in a toll lane on a bike during carpool hours a couple times, but I've never had a toll taker wave me through. I guess now I know.

They enforce the bus only lane. I've gone through it accidentally before too and got away with it. :shhh

And yea, you have to be in a carpool lane to take advantage of no toll during carpool hours. If you're not in a carpool lane you have to pay. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This is the Golden Gate Bridge we are talking about. They don't have a carpool lane or a bus lane. they have manned booths and unmanned FasTrak lanes. I went through a manned booth. They have a CARPOOL sign that alights when you get to go through if you are eligible. The sign alit, I was legit.
