Not a done deal yet, I hear Atalanta and Tennessee are getting courtesy interviews still.

Nevertheless, my hope was that we use the #5 pick to take a CB or Safety to bolster the backfield. Brian Burns, K-Tibs, Sexy Dexy, and Dubdub Carter are the best pass rush in the NFL on paper. If Harbaugh comes to town, I expect the NYG Defense to be a full blown terrorist organization on NFL fields within 1 year.

I mean, the paper is a reflection of potential if unlocked by the right complements. :dunno No Team exists based on natural talent. All of them need to use coaching strategy and Team psychology to elevate the group. That is why the any given Sunday scenario is real.
 
“On paper” is bullshit. Reality, in 2025 no amount of paper or potential did shit to help them win games. On paper is just as delusional as Raiders fans reminiscing about history making a team relevant today. You always have next year.

The Giants defense was ranked fifth worst in the NFL this season. They gave up the 2nd most rushing yards and the fifth most passing yards. No part of that shit defense should be considered the best. Not even toilet paper would hold such nonsense.

I like Harbough in NY though. IF he's a great coach, that would be his chance to prove it.
 
Here is me putting it out into the universe that Saleh does not get a head coaching job this year. He has done an amazing job with our High School replacements and would love to get him going with Bosa and Warner back next year at full health. We need every edge we can get with the Murderer's Row that the NFC West has become the last few years.

Current options suck, no team has a good QB. That said, John Middlekauf, ex eagles scout now an analyst to a degree, very knowledgeable, stated that it doesn't really matter anymore if a coach goes to a crap team. You're now in the coaching carousel, getting paid $10m+ a season. Saleh might want the reins and knows now he'll get 3 years turn things around if he goes to bad team.

If I'm Saleh I ride it out another year at $8m and see then. Dolphins, Cards are terrible. Falcons maybe but they don't have a QB. Ravens maybe but they want an offensive minded coach with Lamar.

Baltimore would be a perfect fit for Saleh if he hires a good OC and just focuses on the defense.
 
I think Saleh is gone... somewhere. Hopefully not the Cardinals.
 
Saleh stated he would not interview before Sunday, after the Seattle game. Then...he informed the press he had to recant his statement. Interviews with two teams, one was Miami and two to follow. If Vegas is giving odds, I'm picking He's Gone, no matter the payline.

Brian Burns is starting in the the Pro Bowl this year. Dexter Lawrence is annually ranked one of the best DT in the NFL every year. Abdul Carter was in Top 3 Defensive Rookies this year by most rankings, and PFF ranked him as the #15 Pass Rusher overall in the NFL. The front line is honestly over stacked with talent not being used well.

The Defense was terrible for certain, and we set a record for 4th Q Collapses when leading, but if not for the putrid Coaching of Shane Bowen, this very easily would have been a playoff team. Without those 4th Q collapses when leading, this would have been a 10-7 Playoff Team. Hell, of the 4 wins they were able to pull off, 2 of them were against playoff Teams.

Not saying that they were not terrible, we were 5th worst in the NFL, but all the numbers seem to indicate a Team very close to being dangerous.

Time will tell. I hope Harbough gets that job. The Bengals are in a similar situation, though I dont think they have the quality defensive players you claim the Giants have. With just a mediocre defense the Bengals would be in the playoffs and a favorite to represent the AFC in the Bowl. But the D was historically bad.

Most of the posters in this thread could do d decent enough job to keep the Raiders HC position for 3 years.
