2025/2026 NFL Thread

I will say when I coached youth soccer we went 10-2 the first year then undefeated for 3 years. Most of the other coaches in the league started taking queues from what I was doing to try and keep up. I got yelled at a lot for running up scores but nothing I could do even my backups were scoring at will I would have had them all sit on the bench to not score.

there are enough head coaching jobs out there where everyone will get a job, will they keep it?
Most of the posters in this thread could do d decent enough job to keep the Raiders HC position for 3 years.
The Raiders have a pretty strong commitment to Self Destruction. If it looks like a Coach is turning the team around, they will be sure to get rid of him (Jack Del Rio), probably tanking the locker room with weird personnel decisions as an excuse.

I thought moving to a different State might help them have a culture reset, but I am now convinced that as long as it is a Davis run organization, I should have zero faith in that Team ever turning it around.

Time will tell. I hope Harbough gets that job. The Bengals are in a similar situation, though I dont think they have the quality defensive players you claim the Giants have. With just a mediocre defense the Bengals would be in the playoffs and a favorite to represent the AFC in the Bowl. But the D was historically bad.

Well, Joe Burrow is great, but the jury is out, right? The bengals have mostly lived in a realm of perpetual suck since inception. The team could find a way to capitalize on the great QB, but they have to build a better team around him.

He has 4 winning seasons in his 6 years in Ohio. Given the Bengals lifelong .455 record all time, being above .500 seems like an improvement and speaks to me of hope for the future. I low key root for those guys when they are doing well, just like the Browns, Lions, Jags, other teams that have a tough legacy to get over.

Just popped into a local spot for a cheese steak. They have the game on. 9ers fans dreams crushed lol

Broncos fans crushed too…Bo Nix broke his ankle at the end of the game. Surgery next week.

4th stringers and grocery store cashiers can only do so much in the playoffs.

It's time for a serious retool in SF

Ugh what, have you never heard of Kurt Warner?

This game was over after the first snap, regardless if sea chickens put up any points after that, game woulda ended 7-6😂

Man, I watched the game while Bowling with my kid and that was probably the worst showing SF has made all year. Even with injuries on deck, that was abominable.

think they were just spent. they were able to beat lesser teams with their patch work of third stringers but the grind of being on the road and all their injuries caught up to them. Better teams know they had to contain CMC since Purdy relies so heavily on him and thats what the Seattle D line did.

SF had a good year all things considered.

Must suck to be a Bills fan; ball just didn't bounce their way and they had a team good enough to go the whole way unlike SF.

Seattle looked great though.

Friend is a Denver fan; what bad luck for them.

But maybe this guy can pull a Purdy.

After revealing Nix’s status, coach Sean Payton said backup Jarrett Stidham is “ready to go” in Nix’s place.

Stidham, 29, has appeared in 20 games with four starts over his seven NFL seasons but has never appeared in a postseason game. He has been with the Broncos since 2023, when he signed a two-year deal and initially served as Russell Wilson’s backup.

The New England Patriots drafted Stidham in the fourth round in 2019 out of Auburn. He spent three seasons in New England, where he served as a backup to Tom Brady and Cam Newton, before being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2022 season.

Stidham was Derek Carr’s backup before Carr was benched and the Raiders named Stidham the starter with two regular-season games left that season. In his first career start on Jan. 1, 2023, Stidham completed 23 of 34 passes for 365 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in an overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle was terrorizing Purdy in the backfield too.

While they have a playoffs caliber D, it seemed like they were performing above their level. Everything smelled to me like the hype got into the Niner psychology.

Was hoping the Bears could pull it off so then they could go to championship and beat the Seachickens but now WGAF as both NFC teams could fall off the planet for all I care. Just hope the patriots can win it all even though it galls me to say so right now.

Josh Allen and TJ Stroud played horribly in this divisional round. I'm sad to see Houston exit. I love watching their defense play. I dont think there has been a season set up better for Allen to make it to the Super Bowl. Utter failure on his part not to capitalize on it. He's shaping up to be another great QB to never reach the show. Looks like Seattle and New England in the Super Bowl. I can't see Denver getting past NE with a 2nd string QB.

Bills coach fired after 9 seasons.

This would be landing spot for Saleh. Top QB. Just have to bring a OC with him
