2025/2026 NFL Thread

Do you honestly think he will keep coaching if he leaves KC? I think they only way they get him out of KC is when Mahomes retires as he probably won't want to have to work his way to the top again. He will probably get a high paying TV job that won't require half as much work as being a HC.
I don't know. He is 67, so even if he finds a 3rd home at 70, odds at that age start to get good that he is too old to be in touch with younger players and he loses the ability to build a winning culture. Nevertheless, the aforementioned Teams with like 40, 50, 60 years of perpetual suck under their belt can do naught but hope a team turner like him shows up and make them a whole new identity that can live on after he is gone like he did in Philly.

Vermeil was with Eagles, Rams, lastly with Chiefs. Obvious success with the Rams, a mixed bag with the Chiefs

Well, I had to look his record up, I kind of only remember him with the Rams, but not really, mainly because he was only there for 3 seasons, 2 of which were shitty.

Doesn't seem like the same kind of guy. He had 2 shitty seasons with the Rams, weirdly won a Superbowl in the 3rd, which seemed more like Kurt Warner being star than great coaching (I remember, because Warner spent a shitty year as the Giants QB after he left the Rams, all pissed off that we drafted Eli Manning), and then the Rams went back to being fucking TERRIBLE for like a decade. Not really a guy who changed a teams whole identity.

Andy Reid created a culture in Philly that EXPECTS them to win. Y'all just don't remember the decades before when Shitbirds just went to the ballpark to get shitfaced and beat up Santa while they watch their team lose. They were losers and knew they were losers, like Browns and Lions style, while the rest of the NFC BEast was racking up Superbowl rings in the 80's and 90's. He changed the whole identity of that team. Kansas City wasn't as bad a culture as Philly, btu they were in a bad spot when he took over with Alex Smith. At this point, Chiefs fans don't know what the fuck to do with themselves if they aren't in the AFC Championship game.

KC demise...covered earlier...in this thread,

Am I a bad person because I want the Rams to win tomorrow?

I'm guessing New England has the upper hand in the other game as Denver, despite being at home, lost their QB.

I'm shopping in Safeway this evening and a clerk shouts out to the guy next to me, "Go Cowboys!". My fellow shopper adorned with a Dallas Cowboy logo jacket.

I holler back to the employee, "This is Mike McCarthy. He's now the Steelers' head coach."

The Cowboy fan says, "You aren't the first person to say I look like him."

We cut it up a bit and he related his kids were still fans, but he'd rather go hunt `n fish. Said no way he'd root for Pittsburgh.

Dude coulda been Mike's brother.

Denver didn’t loose their defense and all the backup has to do is score a few TDs. The Patriots have been giving the ball away a lot over the last few games. My hopes are high for my Broncos.

The only toilet stain nearly as abominable and obnoxious as a Shitbird, is a Cowgirls fan. The only saving grace for Cowgirls is that they actually love and respect horses (not punching them in the face), and they sometimes entertain us by destroying their own TVs in a way that we can all cackle about on the internet after the Team chokes again post season.

I will gladly root for the Donkeys in this event. Another important rule is, "Fuck Boston."

well the nags seemed determined to lose, they shoulda kicked the field goal in the first half on 4th and 1 instead of going for it.
Oh well the ratrirots go to another blooper bowl. Yes I know the game isn't over.

It was a good game, congrats to the Patriots. I think things might have been different if Bo Nix had played, but he didn’t and the Broncos lost. Oh well.

Can't say I want anyone to win the SB this year so I am guessing I will watch it for the commercials and hope that next year the injury gremlins visit some else.

My friend told me about some conspiracy theory online about the power substation that is right next to their training camp in santa clara. I was like dude you are nuts and then a few days later after they lost I saw an article on ESPN about them looking for answers as to why all their players are getting hurt more than other teams and they mentioned even looking into the substation.

When a team consistently has more injuries than other teams, they need to take a long, hard look at their training methods.
