It was weird to me that for SF 49ers home game the announcers were way over the top promoting the Chargers and had almost nothing to say about the 49ers.

This was on a central valley station, so I might have seen something different than Bay Area folks, but I've never seen such bias in a game before by the announcers like that.

Maybe The Central Valley is their market.

I was in San Diego last year and the blatant hatred and epic shade being thrown at them by the local news was hilarious to me. San Diego is bitter as hell, L.A. is a Rams town and don't give a shit, those guys are worse off than the Clippers.

Maybe the festering stinkhole of America from Fresno to Bakersfield is their golden nugget, lol.

Not sure why people care about the 7th most popular football team in L.A.

1)Rams
2)USC Football
3)Raiders
4)LAFC
5)Los Angeles Galaxy
6)UCLA Football
7)Chargers

Could be. I was glad the niners beat them. My wife is lifelong niners fan.

So, Rosters are now down to final. What say you, gents?

It'll be interesting to see what QB the Raiders can claim off of waivers seeing out O'Connell is on IR for 6-8 weeks. Not sure why Andre Carter was let go as he had some good games. Good to see Amari Cooper back in Silver & Black. Felt like him being traded away felt like a gut punch.

I'm also glad Cooper is back. Don't the Raiders have Gino Smith? I thought they were going with him. I admit I haven't tuned in much yet... Still in A's mode for some reason. Oh yeah, because the kids are FUN to watch!! But I digress.

Niners have the easiest schedule. Yet the Raiders were 4-13 and are right in the middle as far as strength of schedule... How does that work??

Geno Smith is the starter. O'Connell was always going to be a back up.

But hey, Browns are sending QB Kenny Pickett to the Raiders for a fifth-round pick.

I would bet the 9ers play in a weaker division than the Raiders and that has an impact on strength of schedule.

  • Six games against divisional opponents — two games per team, one at home and one on the road.
  • Four games against teams from a division within its conference — two games at home and two on the road.
  • Four games against teams from a division in the other conference — two games at home and two on the road.
  • Two games against teams from the two remaining divisions in its own conference — one game at home and one on the road. Matchups are based on division ranking from the previous season.
  • The 17th game is an additional game against a non-conference opponent from a division that the team is not scheduled to play. Matchups are based on division ranking from the previous season.
Niners play AFC South and NFC South, plus the other 4th place teams from NFC North, East, and AFC North - because they finished 4th in the NFC West last year.

Raiders play AFC South and NFC East which means they get Philly and Washington, and then other 4th place teams. Basically though just the 6 AFC WEst games plus Philly and Washington give the Raiders 8 pretty tough games.

Bengals just signed G Dalton Risner, who is an excellent pass blocking G. Arguably the Bengals now have the best O line they've ever put in front of Burrow. The Offense should be amazingly good. The Defense was horrible last season, and they fired the DC and hired AL Golden away from Notre Dame to be DC. If he can get the defense to just be mid pack average, the Bengals should run deep into the play offs despite having a brutal schedule.

The New York Giants had one of the Worst Seasons in the League last year (only the Browns and Titans were worse) and we have the single hardest schedule in the NFL this Season.

:dunno

I feel like the Raiders missed a great opportunity to pick up Tommy Cutlets. He might have been the long term starter there. The kid is ready, I hope he doesn't just die off in Boston.

Niners are starting the season with a lot of young uns and the receiving corps is weak. Even with 3rd and Jawhatever.

Should be interesting to see Shannahan on the sidelines as they progress.

Ever hopeful here.
