AMA NEW SCHEDULE

Monster and RedBull are already spending money in AMA Pro Road Racing. Probably more than what AMA Pro Racing is getting from SOZO.

I get the sponsor teams... I find it interesting either doesn't have their name on the series. I know why RedBull won't.

More value in the teams, I'm guessing.

More control in the Teams.

some of both a little of neither

If you cannot get exclusivity in sponsoring the event, what is the value in sponsoring it? Other brands can spend significantly less for almost the same exposure.

how much exposure does the brand get AFTER the event? You almost never see/hear about the event in ad space months after. You win the 200 and you are in "every" road race magazine for the next quarter.... the event gets minimal mention at best, therefore the title sponsor gets little.

Typically, sponsoring the team gets you on bike, truck, trailer, pits but not on rider - so you have to do a double deal to get branding on the rider as well...

I would love to know how much Monster is paying Factory Yamaha to not only sponsor the bike but the rider as well. Many Yamaha Factory riders were Red Bull Athletes before having to make the switch. Think what that could do to an athletes long term career goals...

I would imagine sponsoring the rider/team at the level of getting on everything covered in your logos and mentioned is going to also cost considerably more over all though.

Falling into that bang for the buck thing still, of course. :thumbup

oh no

I can get branding on a top 5 team for @ $40k per annum which includes 2 sponsor logos on equipment. I can title a team for $150k per annum. I can get a top 5 rider for @15k for logo on suit...

I can brand a series race for $250k and title for ??? (with this you get branding on EVERY RIDER so...)

a team is WAY cheaper

and realize this is all post negotiations so depending on your brand you may pay a lil more or a lil less. Give the athlete/team/series a reason to want you and you can do deals for that much cheaper. Is it more beneficial to align with a brand for their dollar? or for their exposure? Red Bull pays it's athletes in spades with exposure and with bucho $. But once you are a Red Bull athlete you are a RB athlete for life, unless you turn it down and then... you are dirt :laughing

Damn! Really?! That's not as high as I thought. Sadly it isn't like you're getting much bang for that buck right now. :(

Although, I was implying more like the Monster part of Monster Yamaha. Is that all they are paying?

It's hard to say because Monster touches all Factory Yamaha rides even into GP. Not many teams operate like this.

Ok, maybe a bad example, but Like Yoshimura or Makita... basically what I'm curious about is the cost to have your brand name associated specifically with the team. Like Movistar is for Yamaha or Repsol with Honda, just on the AMA level.

Again hard to say

Yoshimura Suzuki is the title sponsor for James Stewart, RCH Racing plus the 3 riders in AMA SBK and Celtic Racing.
RCH and Celtic are like the satellite teams ;)

This is the Suzuki Factory team btw

if you were to go down a level and can better say.

but for the non factory teams the numbers I put up above are pretty accurate.

yeah for sure! You got my number?

baby steps.....

[please, Great Wizard, let this be the beginning of an AMA Pro sponsorship renewal]

Yamaha and Suzuki have signed on with the GEICO Superbike Shootout Pro races too. Manufacturers look like they're coming back into the pro racing fold.

Exactly, just not in the AMA Pro series.

And now we wait and see which series succeeds! The allegiances have surfaced it seems.

I'm starting to think we've just seen a shift and soon the following push out.

Kawasaki seems to be signed up w/ AMA Pro, which is a little surprising. maybe AMAs new entry class for 2015 is Ninja300s :dunno

unfortunately, JU has pretty much said that he doesnt want to run an entire series. he seems like the best person for the job, but hes too busy already w/ his race team and the magazine. so im not sure how AMA Pro could be pushed out.
