AMA NEW SCHEDULE

SS isn't racing at Laguna so I assumed this was a way to increase their exposure.

But coming out 4 days prior to the event? Is likely a little late for most of the rigs that aren't supporting other riders

well, there you go!

criticizing AMA Pro for incompetence & lack of understanding

It was same deal last year. SS guys could do DSB.

Yakoo, the competitors in SS, knew about this months ago.

that's what I gathered from everyone. I felt they made this announcement, in the past, sooner... my mistake/confusion.

So there was an AMA round this last weekend..... guess what was on TV at the track during the AMA race???? World Cup Soccer lol

I'm no soccer fan, but look at the ratings it got. Hell, they're almost as good as the World Series. Really it's a no brainer it was on vs. AMA RR. I don't think AMA ever got those kind of ratings, even back in the day.

It is not about rating, it is about paying. If AMA had money to pay for tv crew it would have been on :)

That's just it. Normally, it's the other way around.... FIFA doesn't have to pay anyone to broadcast their games.

They have product worth buying.
AMA used to get money from tracks to hold races. Wonder what they get now. Think it was Miller that told them to go pound sand when they asked money, and probably some others they don't race at any more.

Well no shit AMA wasn't going to be nationally broadcast over Soccer. But at the track on a closed circuit while the race was actually happening. That was a "you're so irrelevant to the people here we are going to broadcast soccer during your time".

I think that was "you still owe us from last year so no broadcast until you pay" :)

Dorna charges AMA for any use of its cameras; even showing the practices and racing on the jumbotrons and monitors at the track. AMA Pro Racing didn't pay so nothing gets shown. The track didn't have a choice. Laguna doesn't pay for the tv package. It was a joke because the AMA announcers had no way to tell what was going on when the bikes were out of their sight. Fans at the track had no idea who was passing who or other details of the race. Ridiculous.:thumbdown

My point is Dorna could have left the screens off but the real pie in the face was broadcasting the Soccer game during the race.

I'm not sure Dorna controls those screens, just what is broadcast from their own cameras. Those are two different things. There were local ads for Laguna sponsors on the screens at the track. Budman said there was a feed of AMA racing in the VIP suites.

Its just a clusterfuck by AMA Pro Racing.
