The vagueness about the TV package is especially upsetting.

AMA Racing is doing fine... just not AMA Roadracing. :(

AURORA, Ill. (December 23, 2013) – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that the Army National Guard has increased their sponsorship with the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, as the exclusive on-site military sponsor of the 2014 season that begins January 4 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

“We are very excited to have grown our relationship with the Army National Guard for the up-coming season,“ said Dave Muye, Sr. Director Sponsorship & Strategic Alliances, Feld Entertainment. “Their interactive footprint in the pits and color guard presentation to start the show are great additions to the fan experience. We look forward to welcoming many current and future Army National Guard members to Monster Energy Supercross.”

During the 2013 season, the National Guard participated in four races, and 2014 marks their first year as a season-long partner of Monster Energy Supercross. The National Guard will have a large presence during the Pit Party and fans are encouraged to visit their interactive display.

The National Guard activation site will provide interactive opportunities for the fans to experience. It will include a pull up, sit up contest and the punching bag challenge. Each fan participating in the National Guard events will have the chance to receive “National Guard” giveaways. There will also be National Guard Recruiting Representatives on site to answer questions and explain the opportunities available to young men and women interested in serving their country as well as discuss National Guard college scholarships.

For the first-time ever, the entire Monster Energy Supercross season will air live on FOX Sports. FOX Sports 1 will air 13 races live and FOX Sports 2 will air four races live, in addition to every race re-airing on FOX Sports 2. The live Monster Energy Supercross programming on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 also includes live coverage on the authenticated FOX Sports Go app.

AMA Pro Road Racing announces five event (10 races) schedule with possibility of a sixth event (probably Laguna with WSBK).

Looks like the worst season since the 3-race schedule in 1993.

No Road Atlanta and only the possibilty of one race west of the Rockies. Too disappointed to rant.

WERA Nationals has 6 rounds and includes a track west of the mississippi... Which is the premiere series in the USA again?

WERA pays to rent the track. Tracks (very few) pay DMG/AMA Pro. Until promoters start paying WERA to show up, I'm going with AMA as the premier series. That said, WERA could probably do a good job replacing current AMA Pro Road Racing mgmt.

I bet most fans don't know/care who pays who. The better argument is that at least some AMA races are televised while WERA is not, so that's where the vast majority of the promotional money is going to be spent. Wouldn't surprise me in a year or two both have the same number of televised races though.

But yeah, I bet even Berto could do a better job running AMA. :laughing

TV package for this year has not been announced so it could happen sooner than later.

Where's that popcorn icon...
