AMA NEW SCHEDULE

i feel like we heard about that rule change more than a few weeks ago.

either way, rule changes dont mean shit if no one watches the races.

Talk about missing the problems in AMA Pro racing….

I don't understand. How is it cheaper to tote your spare bike around the country in pieces instead of fully assembled?

there is the possibility that teams will now only tote around 2 bikes instead of 3 (or 3 instead of 4).

itd be pretty stupid if the wording of rules says that the spare chassis must be without engine, wheels, and forks before it can be tech'd. in WSBK, it makes sense to only have a roller since they now have engine reliability rules. but that in AMA just seems like extra work for no reason.

Daytona 200 back to Superbikes in 2015.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 10, 2014) – AMA Pro Racing announced today that the premier AMA Pro SuperBike class will return to the DAYTONA 200 in 2015. The 2015 edition of AMA Pro Road Racing’s kickoff event will be a 69-lap race contested on Daytona International Speedway’s 2.91-mile short course.
“Getting the SuperBikes back in the DAYTONA 200 has been a fan request for years and we’re thrilled to be making this announcement,” said Michael Gentry, Chief Operating Officer of AMA Pro Racing. “The DAYTONA 200 is America’s premier motorcycle race, and our goal is to once again feature the biggest names in motorcycle road racing in the event.”

Short course may or may not solve the tire issue. They can barely keep tires on the 600s. The present Superbikes still crack 200mph on the short course.

simple - dump Dunlop & require Bridgestone MotoGP Factory-class "hard"s

they never blister!

i heard this weekend that Dunlop USA is working on a new construction for the 200 SBK slick. however, i have no idea if theyve been running the USA slick at Daytona.

With good reason.
Exactly.
This is actually the 1st positive thing this year worth talking about but it's not even happening for another year :laughing
Not funny, a$$whole. :laughing

Here's a positive: Bless Dunlop for building a one time tire for Daytona. I don't know what they currently cost the teams, but I bet Dunlop just does it for public relations and not profit. Anyone know what a set of Daytona 200 tires cost these days?

Dunlop already builds a special tire for Daytona (as they have in the past). Sometimes the tire even works.
