BARF Militia

I have a bunch of those that I'd been saving since before the CA AW ban! :thumbup
Plus, you can still use the G17 and G18 magazines in the 19, but I don't have any of those :(

That's a lot of G19s in the BARF Militia! We ought to have a 19 shoot!

Well, here's one of the new toys. M1a Scout Squad. The guy stripped and cammod the sythetic stock. I'm hopefully gonna put a walnut stock on it. Haven't tried it out yet but I've wanted one of these for a long time so I'm pretty excited. Luckily I had a couple 20 rounders.

Yeah, I've liked the M14 design since I got the Arms of the World book as a ten year old. I really like the Scout design, it feels really natural to me. I'm probably gonna do the typical thing and put an Ampoint Comp M on it. I'll probably get a standard loaded one someday as well.

Congrats! I've liked those Scout rifles since they came out, too! Way cheaper than the Styer Scout, just as accurate, and more ammo :cool

Edit - oh yea, were you going to loan it to us for the Metcalf shoot next Sat? :thumbup :drool

Zefflyn - if Ratters doesnt, I have already offered my two M1As (one a Socom16) to ScorpioVI to pick up, as well as my AR, etc. Although Scorp does have his own M1A, so might be just my Socom, AR and 700PSS loaned out for the cause

Frick, I'm not gonna be able to make the shoot next Saturday.

I am picking up two new firearms though. :D And purchasing the USP.

I can stop whenever I want to.

A question from the noob department:

How do you guys transport your items to the range? Aftermarket cases? Soft bags? Curious.

both, pistols in a lockable softbag, most rifles in hardcases, but one rifle is in a softcase.

Since handguns have to be transported in a locked container, if I'm on a bike or a truck, I'll put the handguns in a locking aluminum case, kinda like a small briefcase, that has foam inside.

If I'm lucky enough to be in a car, I'll put some of them in a zippered "range bag" multi-pocket zippered gun rug.

Rifles are usually in soft bags, but I'll amost always put my M1a match rifle in a hard case.

Sportsmens Supply has a sale on Springfield WWII 1911 for $379.99. What are your opinions on this 1911? I missed out on the Kimber sale they had a few months ago (still more than double $379.99 though) but always wanted an original 'replica' 1911. I'm thinking this is a good basic 1911 to start with and possibly be able to mod/upgrade trigger, grip, ...etc. in the future?

One of my friends had one, and thought it was his most accurate, reliable pistol. He loved it.

Springfields are great 1911s, the WWII version is as bare bones as you'll find, basically as close to an original spec as you can get.
Great starter if you have planned mods in the future.

Most of you are probably aware of this sale. I thought I would just post it up for those who may not.
