Damn dude, glad to hear you're ok.
Chabot range, Saturday 9 August.
Result of a friend's n00bage reloading effort being fired from my now-deceased Wilson KZ-45. His n00bageidity overloaded the powder and blew the excess into my face. No permanent damage to me (I can't get much less attractive, so that's a plus), but I've got an impressive black eye and small shrapnel embedded in my right cheek (face, not butt, ya mooks...). The gun is over. The blast split the extraction port on the right side of the gun, cracked the rear of the slide, cracked the polymer lower, blew out the magazine, and melted the round underneath. Wilson will charge $1,200-$1400 to repair it, which is a new gun.
Ezekiel/Joe and Ironbutt/Chad were there to render assistance. Another BARFer was also there (sorry, I was in a little bit of shock and can't remember his name).
Anyway, upshot (get it??) is - Don't trust n00b reloads, ever. If you are reloading, make sure your powder weights before and after loading match the number of rounds. Otherwise you've double-loaded and might get this, or worse...

^^That thing doesn't deliver a tap, it delivers a blow...![]()
That thing won't be doing any damned tapping until I can find low pressure shells, this is ridiculous.
After I fire some proof loads, it will live over my desk until my daughter starts dating. I'm sure that will ensure she gets home on time.

'Sir, may I marry your daughter?'
'Sure, but to prove you're a man you have to fire this here shotgun'.

It takes quite a bit to get Magnesium to catch on fire, and that's even without a coating. These are coated.Magnesium? Oh this can ONLY end well.![]()

When will people understand, ARs are designed to be built out of Aluminum, not plastic, magnesium, ceramics, or bamboo.![]()
