BARF Militia

that's why goose guns are so effing long. generally you have to really reach out there to touch them because they fly so high.

Oh geez, you really need a hug, dontcha? :laughing

Sweetheart, a longer barrel with a tighter choke will keep the pattern tighter for a longer distance. Depending on how far you are from a target, you often screw in different chokes. I have a Mossy just like yours (except it's a Mariner) and if you're blasting soda cans at 20 yards, it's badass. If you're on a sporting clays field and need to make a 45+ yard shot, the shot from the 18" barrel with open choke will spread the pellets too far apart and you are unlikely to break the clay.

If you're breaking more clays with your Mossy than your 870, you should spend more quality time with the 870 and you will eventually suck less. :twofinger (don't worry, even the top shooters in our league would have a tough time with your Mossy :teeth)

Alex, you made about 2 posts too many trying to rationalize with someone, on the Internet, on BARF. What did you expect? :laughing

Can we shoot clays soon? :)

Good point. :)

Metcalf is down the street from you, I might go out there Sunday afternoon and also visit my parents... who are literally a short walk from your front door. More importantly, are you going to get your shit together and come duck hunting with me this season?? Although... your life is about to change quite a bit, you might be lucky to even have time for a cup of coffee with me. :thumbup

Yea, just need to plan ahead...

Im on call Sunday but maybe can go shoot for an hour since its close!

Ok wtf. Just called metcalf to double check and their voice mail says noon to 4. But they were definitely open at 10am last weekend because that's when I shot there.

Anyone have a 9mm rifle? I'm thinking it would be make for a good frequent shooting ($$) sub-100yd gun, but don't see tons of options. The price is right with the Hi-Point, but it kind of looks like a pos. The Citadel looks cool, that's probably the best looking, imo. What are you guys doing for super cheap shooting? 223 bulk ammo in AR's? Russian stuffs?

I thought about that because you can still get some good prices on remaining stock, but it's pretty much the same as 9mm and that's not going anywhere. Maybe a glock or 1911 with a mechtech upper would be the ticket.

this might be a dumb question, but I am looking for suggestions/ideas for carrying a handgun while camping/hiking. This would be for when I go out way into the woods and mainly just to carry something for "just in case" situations... maybe im paranoid...

I saw this, but have no info on it. I like the idea though

anyone have any ideas or thoughts on the best way to carry while out exploring. Thanks
