BARF Militia

:x Fawndog's come to the range with me. I've gone to the range with Roman. Dubb's has driven down here before, even if I had to bribe him with brass for reloading :p.

:thumbup

I do need to sight in my AR and scope and suck balls at that. Was thinking USI Sunday.

Omega grips on the 97, must have big hands, but it fills them better than the thin aluminum ones. It's so pretty

97 out of jail today. What size, style and profile did you get? How did you decide what to get? Sonny, you're costing me money, although I also ordered another toy today, similar to yours but a newer gen... :cool

I just ordered 97 grips, he didn't offer different profiles.

Who wants to borrow my AR and sight it in by friday? I need it Saturday. I'll give you $10 and 20 rounds of 223. I can't get on paper from 50 yards. Has a 1-6 scope I'm trying to dial in.

Of course the m1a with irons is dead on at 50.

I can take it out on Thursday and give it back Friday if that works. Or since it's a bit of a drive for you if you want to meet me at the range down here on Friday I'm free all day, can sight it in and give it back.

Have you tried a laser boresight first just to get on paper? Every shop I've ever been to has them for pretty cheap, you can basically chamber a round that's really a laser pointer, it points down your barrel, you point your barrel at the wall at the end of your hallway, and get your crosshairs close.

Your mount for the scope may have some elevation dialed in though, which may also be throwing things off a bit. Dunno.

Are your sights aligned? Have you used a boresight on it?

Tried a boresight laser cartridge while back. I can do it again. Might not have been level from my garage to a wall 25 feet away when I did it. It's def me and not the upper. Its a Stag 3g upper.

So put a spot on the wall and basically line the laser and the crosshairs to that? I'll make sure the AR is stable and level.

Pete, I'll let you know bout thursday. Be nice to take friday off or do half day maybe, I'll know tomorrow.

Laser sighting to the wall at 25 yards and zeroing the scope on the dot should, at the very least, get you on paper if not reasonably close to your true zero. Remember though, if you zero at 25 then at 50 you'll be hitting paper a bit higher than your crosshairs.

Has an interesting reticle.

When it comes to moving ammunition around, anyone know at what point (weight / # rounds?) dot rules kick in? Not talking about mailing anything, specifically moving my stash from one home to the next. ta. al.

Not that I care, I'll prolly just load the truck and go for it. :rofl

No idea. But if it's more than your truck can take in one load then I'd say they kick in. Otherwise, go for it and just don't hit any bumps too hard.

DOT would only matter for commercial truckers I imagine. Personal property wouldn't require placards.

"ORM-D" for up to 66 lbs
"Explosive 1.4" >66 lbs
