Roman, what's the average wait time on that, do you know?

I don't know. It was few month for me, but I'm in a different position with what I do. I do know though, that there are quite a few applications already in the pile. And one officer dealing with them.

Based on some of my acquintance it really depends on the county, the workload, and processing procedures. So if you live in a city I'd anticipate between 8-12 months. I do know a friend got his in 3 months in El Dorado County.

Looking at moving in January. Started browsing craigslist, saw an awesome place 2 bed/2 bath luxury condo, shared with owner, right by santana row. $800/month for one of the beds and baths. Called the guy, talked to him, everything's great, he asks my income, I said GI bill + savings, and just with my savings I can pay the year in advance if need be. He goes what's the GI bill I don't know what that is. Told him ex military, he goes "oh do you own a gun?" me: yes.... him: "yeah sorry no guns allowed. Since I live there too it's just a rule I have. No guns in the house."

Fuck. Place is nice and for $800 is gonna be hard to beat.

No gun rule makes it not nearly so nice.

Yeah...Kinda hinted at him that if it were an apartment complex or something there's certain fair housing practices like no discriminating on race, gender, religion, etc. He basically kept reiterating "I live here, I own the condo, I work from home a lot, it's just not something I'm comfortable with or want."

Sure, and he's right. His place, his rules. I don't know if that's the law or not, but that's how it should be. You know he's not comfortable with them, the reason doesn't matter.

There'll be other places to live that are a good fit, this one isn't it.

I'm officially incorporating that into any shop space I rent.
-"Do you own a gun?"
="No"
-"Sorry, I don't abide pacifist"

What's a reasonable price for a nicely set up Ruger MkI? I have a 1963 Standard and found someone with a 1965 MkI, would be fun to have a pair of similar guns.

Yeah. Even if it WAS illegal, pressing the issue with the owner as a roommate wouldn't really be an ideal living situation heh.
