Sweet, I just received my shipment of 1,000 rnds of .223 for my SU-16. I forgot that I had also ordered tracers (100 rnds).

Can't wait until I can try them.:teeth

How much and what kind if you don't mind my asking? :teeth

Gonna pick some up at the gun show tomorrow if it's not too expensive.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get some Winchester 3131a but it has gotten real pricey. Last year I picked up a case for 160, last gunshow it was up to 200 due to shortages from the war and a genearl run on the caliber.

For all intents and purposes, modern cartridges are so good that it doesn't matter what caliber you use. So, pick a gun exclusively on how well it fits your hand, and how well you can shoot it. If you hit your target, that's the most important thing, because a miss from a big gun won't do any good.

gotta take issue with this one. I think reliability edges out ergonomics a little bit. If the gun doesn't run every time when you need it, you ought to get a different gun.

Later when you become more experienced you'll definately find that pistol designs are just better than others.

Yeah, I would rather have the winchester but it is pricey. I got the wolf mainly because it comes in a sealed tin that will be perfect for long term storage. I eventually want to have 2000 rnds of each caliber that I have, so far that is that is 5 (7.62x39, 7.62x54R, .40 S&W, .22 magnum and .223 winchester). I will probably get a shotgun and maybe a .30-06 at some point but want to keep it limited to those.

True, true. I was taking it for granted that the CA market being what it is, if he goes into a gun store he'll only be able to buy new, DOJ-approved handguns. Those should all be reliable, except for the mfg flukes.

Man, lame gun show. Well, OK, they are normally lame, but this one there was no milspec 5.56, and everything else was pricey. I did end up getting some Wolf for the AKs but even that was up about $20. I did get some .270 and .308 as well, but no good deals. Only cool thing was the guy with the obsidian knives.

They were doing the On One Wheel class there so I watched a bit. Was actually considering doing it as I don't know how and don't want to mess up the bike. Well, after watching about three passes with short wheelies the guy comes down from probably a 20ft. wheelie and face plants. Probably grabbed front brake on the way down but what do I know. Bummer though. He was OK.

:thumbup

I wonder if he was shooting it upside down just for fun, or to test reliability?

I've normally liked the Winchester 3131a Isreali stuff but you just can't get it anymore. Can't find XM193 either. All you can find is the loose packed crap which is practice ammo at best, dangerous with risk of squibs at worst. I'm not even sure what to get for the ar/m17/M96 now. I have some Winchester .223 white box stuff but it's not up to milspec velocity. If you have any suggestions I'm wide open?

I have some black hills that I get for the LTR, in fact fawndog is ordering me some more. I also have some American Eagle Federal stuff in .223 for cheaper practice with the LTR. Black Hills milspec stuff is way to pricey though.

Can't find any decent .308 on the cheap either. Knew I should have bought more of the Aussie stuff when it was around. :cry

Does anyone know where to find this trigger guard mount for a Glock...or any gun at al. I can't track this thing down anywhere.

Don't think that one will fit, this one will fit all Glocks

If you looking at spending the money for a surefire, this laser might interset you. I will getting one soon.Link
