BARF Militia

Finally decided I need a 1911. After shooting my dads gold cup and droolingike crazy its time. Bad news is I'm a lefty and I'm wanting a rail. Was leaning towards SA loaded. Any of you have a 1911 with ambi safety you would want to let go? Roman, you guys have anything?
You can buy an ambi safety and install it on any 1911. The Wilson Combat one isn't terribly expensive, and dropped straight into my Kimber with no modification. Pretty sure it'll work on the SA loaded too.

Was looking at them and they fit me the best. Anyone have a RIA? Last time I was at Kerleys they were showing me one and it was ok for the price. Wanted some real feedback from the BARF militia members to see what the real deal was with RIA :afm199

I have an RIA. If you are ever at SVRG on Tuesday nights you are welcome to try it. It's one of the upper end models (don't recall the model name) with a skeleton trigger, ambi safety and adjustable target sights.

Right on, both are cannons. I have a couple levers, but one is 30-30 and the other is 25-35. both fine for deer. I bet that .444 would make a great hog gun!

I've usually used the 30-30 or the 35 Remington. My property is 43 acres that until last year resembled a Christmas tree farm. The method for hunting there was walk up and down the rows, stumble on a group of deer, and shoot one. The longest shot was about 75 yards, and that was with the 444. The closest was about 50 feet.

I don't know how serious I am, but it has run through my head to send a 336 up to Norman Johnson and have it made into 25-35 or maybe 7-30 Watters.

Uh oh...did you have a fire? Blacksburg? Virginia? You property and hunting setup sounds frigging awesome.

No fire, just cut and replanted. The trees are about a foot tall now. They were a mix of white pines and spruce. It actually was a Christmas tree farm at one point. Last year some guy bought the mature trees for Christmas wreaths and whatnot.
One side still has some large oaks, and it backs up to another large farm. The hunting is still okay, but it takes a different strategy than before.

And yes, Blacksburg Virginia.

Anyone going to the gun show at Cow Palace this weekend? I'm in the market for .40 and 9 mm rounds, about 1,000 or more each.

I went. Wasnt too bad. They figured out how to manage the ammo booth. Letting in a few at time. There were ZERO new handguns on display. Zero! Pretty much AR15 and AR10 central. The guy selling those magnetic bullet button tools was killing it. I stayed away. Another vender had a new AR trigger that can be switch to 'binary' mode (what full auto would be) and the bolt or something in the trigger fires it nearly making it full auto....I walked away from that too.

Ammo didnt seem crazy. Got some good prices on primers and powder and steel 762x39 and picked up a fun casing marker for more than half off.

i went to cow palace for the show yesterday. same ol' shit. if youve been to one show there, youve been to them all. good prices on ammo tho.

man, trying to find a glock 43 in sac is fucking ridiculous. i had one lined up and the dude came up with some bullshit story that he's going to be out of town for the next month all of a sudden. sucks. i just want to take my damn ccw class! ugh

^^^Check out the M&P Shield if haven't done so already.

i shot my friend's m&p the other week and it just felt junky to me compared to the G26. i should probably just buy a gen3 G26 but i really like the idea of a single stack glock

G43 is an awesome gun. Of of my favorite to shoot. Got over 2000 rounds through mine.

Picked up a Kel-Tec KSG. Nice gun so far as of twenty shells through it. It did not come with sights, that does make it harder to reference / aim so I will need to add a set of sights. Any one that has a KSG... would you recommend a red dot, iron sights or some other variant?
