BARF Militia

.

miran did you buy a glock 19? i saw you say a few posts back about getting one.

i brought that up cuz i was wondering why youare considering a p99, we have a p22 and its fun as fuck, BUT the ergonomics piss me off cuz of the decocker and mag safety and stuff, i know if the SHTF, my motor skills go to shit and i would not be able to shoot that gun if i need to ( if the p99 is anything liek the p22)

get a glock., im getting to the point where im starting to standardize my stuff, only glocks and 1911's for me

you should check out that glock torture thread on ar15.com, its nuts what he does to the 21 and it still shoots, he took a usp did the exact same test and it failed to fire on the very first test (sandbucket) so there goes my trust in those guns

secondly,,,,,, lets see some gun pics bitches!!!

Nah, I shot a Glock 19 recently and decided I'd like to invest my money in other things. Didn't like the trigger, didn't like having to pull the mag out of it when it was time to reload, didn't like how it felt. It's a great gun for some people, not for me though :|

Ratters let me shoot his P99, and I really liked it. I was more accurate with the 92FS and definitely liked it over the 99, but for the price, the 99 would be a better choice. I simply must have something in 9mm. 10mm Kurz for my SIG is so expensive! :(

I'm waiting for another Traders or Reed's sale..I know Traders had CZ75Bs for like $399 NIB :cool Speaking of which, does anyone have a CZ75 I can shoot before I buy it? :teeth Or I might just go rent one (despite my hatred of indoor ranges).

I love my Tangfolio Witness which is a cz copy. Took it out the the range after Thanksgiving. As much as it pains me to say it, this $400 gun out shot my Kimbers. I enjoy the thing more and more every time I shoot it. Mines a .45, though I'm pretty sure they make a 9.

If you want to meet up in Vacaville I'll let you shoot it.

Trader's sales have been sucky for the last year or so. Don't know why. Might want to check out Wild Sports in Orangevale. They advertise Thursdays in the Sac bee.

yup EA witnesses are great for the price.

wtf are you talking about the g19, why did it have shuck and puck mags? mine doesnt, tahts europeanstyle, was it a old model?

yeah, all they need is a manufacturere to bite on selling lowers here, vulcan armament already does

I thought I was pushing in all the way :confused Sloppy Austrian gun :rolleyes

Actually, they make drop-free and non-drop free magazines for the Glock.

I agree with Miran. I can't stand glock. I hate the trigger with a passion and I'm not fond of the rear sight.

I like the sights on my Glock just fine and the trigger doesn't bother me. I do agree with Miran that I don't like the drop free mags, but since my Glock 23 came with 2, I haven't bothered to replace them. Maybe I'll get soem free drop mags as a stocking stuffer from the GF, LOL.

So, here at UCD, I have access to carbon-fiber mold-making things, so for the cost of materials, I could make a C-F stock for my SKS..maybe even make a pistol-grip. Then I could play the ten-or-less game to make it nice and legal :teeth Then it's off to gamble some money away in Reno :)

Haha, have fun with that. If you could succesfully pull that off, I would give you some serious props. I spend a significant portion of my time building things from carbon and I wouldn't touch a gun stock with a 10 foot pole.

The thing is full of close tolerances on the inside, which would require a male mold. That will give you shitty surface finish on the outside though. And carbon is good for thin skin type construction, not solid objects. It would be easier to buy a really crappy wood stock and wrap it with a layer of carbon.

What is a good gun as an introduction gun for a girl? Easy to shoot, accurate and not intimidating?

Thanks,
Troy

Troy - rifle or handgun?

Best starter round is .22LR IMO, male or female.
Hardly any/no recoil, reasonably quiet, no muzzle flash etc.

Bill - how'd badbad like the .22 revolver?
Loaded with .22 shorts, it's as no-recoil & quiet as you can get.

Aside from that, women seem to like the Walther P22, as it has a smaller grip. The Sig Mosquito would probably be a safe bet.

Troy - if you and the lady want to try a few out, we could have a Livermore shoot one of these Saturdays. I'll bring 4 .22's and a 1911 w/ .22 conversion, and maybe some other folks will show up with .22's to try out.
