BARF Militia

Lots of 1911's have LCI's, in the form of a hole in the top of the chamber that you peer into to see if a round is there.

Luckily, places like Springfield and Kimber can keep making the same 1911 year after year, so they'll most likely keep those models on the roster for years to come.

+100 I actually like the owner Ron, but I've had enough of their attitude and shitty service. I've spent quite a bit of money there and will do so no longer.

I doubt they will be hurt by us not going there. Seems like evertime i ask somebody about their gun or where they got it when i'm at USI, the name Canyon comes up alot. I guess they just don't know good service when they see it is all. Antioch Armory is the best IMHO so far from the dealings i've had with gun shops. Just a bitch to get to after work on a weekday with the traffic on eastbound hwy 4 is my only gripe.

Yep, 100%. They do a lot of business because they are one of the only gun shops left in Contra Costa. Won't be any of my business though. +100 on Antioch Armory though. I bought a Glock from him for a good price. Guy isn't very chatty but he's straighforward and has decent prices rather than the way overpriced "but I can cut you a deal" shit at Canyon. I too don't go there very much specifically cause of the traffic. I also travel down to Fremont to Irvington Arms cause it's worth the drive to me to support a good shop. In fact I'm picking up a new toy on Saturday. I'll post pics when I get it.

BTW, there is a gun show in Vallejo this weekend. I'll be there early Saturday to pick up some ammo.

Aaaaaaaand done!

Now I'm wondering if I want to destroy one of my old standard cap AK mags by limiting it to 10rds and welding it shut forever...I want a fixed-mag semi-auto, but hate the way the 10 rounders look :(

Miran, if you need a ten rounder let me know, I think I have a couple.

My two registered AKs don't really need them. :p

Yep, just get a 10 rounder. Or if you want the look of the 30 round clip, drill a hole and pop a rivit so it doesn't hold more than 10 rounds.

I got with the rivit for one of my hard to find clips from a shop, so I'm guessing it's legal. Also easy to 'fix' if needed.

I'm going sat a.m. for reloads only, unless the kids come and want to look around at all the different kinds of jerky they sell. :laughing

To fix the magazine onto the AK, I plan on just disabling the mag release, i.e. preventing it from moving by putting in a bolt through the trigger side.

Unless you have a ton of the standard cap AK mags, I'd say go for the 10 rounder. Them mags are worth their weight in gold in CA!

They would be, if we could sell them to each other. :(

Well, they're worth their weight in gold to me!

But yeah, I guess things are only worth what someone is willing to buy it for. :(

Yeah, I think I got all my AK mags back in the mid 90s for about 3 bucks each. Wish I woulda bought a few more. :(

Well, here's my new toy. Impulse buy, may regret it as when I got home and checked the forums I found out it has a pretty bad reputation. But I wanted a nice light compact .22. When I went to pick it up they had a CZ75 in single action in the case I coulda got instead. :cry Oh well, gotta wait to shoot it to find out. :|

I've read mixed reports on them - it's probably just the age-old problem of finding the right ammo for it.

I went to Traders yesterday around 10:00, and there was only one other customer there! :wow It was the first time I was able to just walk in and get some counter help, but they didn't have any Hi-Powers for me to check out. :(

I picked up a bunch of cleaning stuff, and some gun socks for my rifles. All my handguns that were in socks were rust-free, but the rifles were just sitting in the safe, and they had surface rust all up and down. Spent a few hours in the evening cleaning them, while watching Pulp Fiction. Man, that movie is long!
Now they are all nice and shiny, and well oiled. :teeth

Ouch, get some dessicant for your safe. ;)

Yeah, I'm going to watch Jarhead today and try to install the RRA two stage trigger in the Oly AR and put on the vltor stock. I might even clean some guns. :teeth

Well, installed the new trigger today. Pretty easy job. Good directions on ar15.com on how to do it.

Well when taking out the old trigger this popped out. Not sure where it came from but probably why my disconnecter wasn't working. :toothless
