BARF Militia

I've got a question that some of you may be able to help me with, I'm thinking of removing the "stock" front and rear sights on my Glock .22 . Was thinking of replacing them with some Trijicon night sights, figured someone here would have some insight on them.

But why are they bling?! Just curious as I can't find anything online outside of one sided reviews, anything negative about Trijicon's and what not? Or are they basically the best money can buy? My Glock's basically a left over side piece from my army days and I figured it was time to give her some love in the form of a sight upgrade.

And thanks everybody for showing up at the range last night. Was fun.

Ben, Miran had the CZ I think.

USAR , had to jump through hoops and sign a frig ton of paperwork to get my Glock .22 as my sidearm as it wasn't standard issue (Not even going into the drama that came with buying and waiting for approval), well outside of the m9a1 as the 9mm parabellum is the standard. Which also coincides with the fact I had to supply my own munitions through a certified carrier. A majority of the 11B that I was assigned with switched out their m9's due to reliability issues, in that most of us went with Glock .22's so it wasn't that bad and it was really accurate once you got used to the weight distribution and recoil.

Guess I went into to much detail huh? :laughing

Lead Bullet Ban In California

So our wonderful politicians have come up with what they think will save the Calfornia Condor, July 2008 you cannot use any lead based bullets for hunting in the Condor Zone
If any of you will be affected please chime in
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/hunting/condor/docs/LeadInformation.pdf

no more ground squirrel or varmint hunting with our traditional ammunition with rimfire or centerfire, I'll be going to the SHOT show in Vegas next month to talk to bullet manufactures to see what kind of alternative ammunition is in development and what costs are involved
Supposedly if you get caught with just one lead based bullet while hunting you will be fined $1500 and/or 6 months jail time

I have em on a G17. Nice sights. Don't remember how old they are, but probably 10+ years, still going strong.

Finally, I picked up the Sig and the AR today. Went straight to Livermore and had a blast, er...a good time. :p

oh yeah, sorry for the crap pic but at least it's proof I'm now cooler than Mikey!!

I don't know the difference between any of the night sights, they all seem the same and come down to buyer preference. However, it might be worth your while to just send your slide somewhere and have them install the sights, because the sight replacement tools seem a bit expensive for one-use items.

On the other hand, this guy makes it look easy.

OK so I said screw it and start gathering parts... I purchased a model 1 sales .223 upper with a knights armament rail on it.

Due to ammo costs being INSANE, and already having a rifle in 7.62. I sold the Model 1 upper, and purchased a DPMS 7.62 upper. I also scored a Daniel Defense rail. The knights one I *think is a chinese knock off, due to the rail being 19.25mm not the 20mm standard. So my 7.62 has a daniel defence rail on it.

The Knights, and other parts i'm not using are now relegated to airsoft!
Hey mikey.... You could still afford airsoft, and your parents won't kill ya. :twofinger

That's a pretty large area for no-lead hunting. But, as long as you're not hunting, you're good to go?

What about target shooting, “plinking”, or firearms for personal protection?

The Commission does not regulate these activities. Use of lead projectiles is legal
unless another government entity has determined otherwise for lands they administer.
The regulations prohibiting lead only relate to possession while engaged in specified
hunting activities.

yeah i saw that also, looks like panoche is still safe to shoot at.

at least its not a complete ban on ammo, just cant put lead into animals. its a stupiod laws cuz condors are being wiped out by cars and power lines, i dont see them doing anything about that. apparently thye find condors with lead poisioning, but they are still alive. but what do you expect, they are scavengers, and basically top of the food chain. they will get the most evironmental toxins.

Does anyone know of a left handed biased grip for the Sig226? Doing to dry fire practice last night I noticed the thumb bulge on the left side is annoying and want to swap that out. I know a lot of people go with Hogue but being a lefty it's a little unique.

Thanks dudes.
