BARF Militia

Target Masters has 7-8 in stock. The 22/45's were all $284 regardless of barrel length. They had a beautiful Mk III Hunter for $415.

How do you like the MkIII vs the Buckmark? I didn't spend much time holding the MkIII but it seemed nice... It certainly looks nicer than the Buckmark, but I suspect the Buckmark fits my large hands a bit better.

$284 is much less than the cheapest Buckmark at $305...

I haven't cleaned my Buckmark in six years and it's still as accurate and reliable as the day I bought it. It will run forever. I like the Ruger too, but to me the Buckmark fit much better in the hand.

Well I finally, after 1 1/2 years, picked up my lower reciever from the calguns group by. Parts for the lower arrived form DPMS today. The trigger will be a JP Rifles unit as that is what I have in my current AR and am very happy with it.
Plans for the rifle:

flat top upper (already have)
Noveske 20" barrel
Carrier & bolt from JP Rifles
full float tube from JP Rifles
harris bipod
PRI gas buster charging handle
Nightforce or Leupold scope in a LaRue mount
Primary Weapon Systems FSC556 comp
Doctor Optic mini reddot mounted on float tube at the 1:30 position

Shit, a zombie has already eaten your brain son if you think an AR is better zombie protection than an AK. You need to transfer energy to remove the zombie's head. You just don't get the energy transfer with a 5.56 like you do with a 7.62.

Unless you've got a 7.62x39 AR. :twofinger

Buckmark to remove the bolt means removing the rear sights. This meant adjusting the sights again after each cleaning. That was enough to decide to go with the MarkIII pain is arse and all. :D

You don't remove the rear sight, you remove the bar on which the rear sight is mounted. No re-adjustment necessary, just unscrew 2 hexheads and the top of the gun pops off. Clean, then reassemble in reverse.

Easy! :banana

Humm, I'm thinking about doing some skeet at Los Altos rod & gun tomorrow morning if anyone want to go

Zefflyn thats good to hear, the bolts precision to keep it aligned. I should of looked closer at them. Read reviews saying it misaligned. Heh how accurate does sights have to be on a pistol.
My experience removing the barrel from the reciever on a 10-22. Each time have to readjust the scope. Was thinking of this type of error.

Ratters autta think about Ultrasonic Cleaner. One thing an ordinary ultrasonic cleaner as soon as it's called a gun ultrasonic cleaner the price goes up :D

Usually we just take one gun to the range at a time. Cleaning the one isn't all that big a deal. Taking multiple guns to the range and later cleaning gotta be a chore.

Never shot a Buckmark unfortunately, so I couldn't tell ya. But in holding them, the Buckmark does feel a bit beefier. I've got a 22/45 which is supposed to resemble the ergos of a 1911. While the grip angle and all the controls are similar, the grip width is a bit narrow. What sucks too is the grips on the 22/45 cannot be swapped out for thicker ones. :(

Aaag, my HSC expires in 7 days! Time for a buying spree!

Stupid HSC. The BFSC (Basic Firearms Safety Certificate - predecessor to the HSC) was supposed to be good for lifetime. Shows you what the promise of the CA legislature is worth. :mad

I've actually found the Vallejo show to be much better. Less crap and the ammo lasts longer. It was fun flipping off the protesters at the Cow Palace show though.

Al

+1 The Vallejo show is much better (firearms-wise) than the Cow Palace.
