BARF Militia

I picked up my Sig P220 on consignment from Irvington Arms in Fremont. $700 for almost-new, with 6 mags (5 by Sig, one off-market), a Bianchi leather duty holster, and a Bianchi leather duty 4-mag pouch. Hell of a deal. Normal retail for the P220 (oh, and iridium sights...) was $1100.

Don't be hatin'.... :laughing

So you might as well take the Sig and then get the CZ too. :banana

Judging by the way things are going, it sounds like there may be a CZ in Uhmeebuh's closet 30 days from now. :laughing

It's okay Uhmeebuh, we all get the sickness. The good thing is, there is no cure. But you can stave off the symptoms by buying more guns. :thumbup

It seems like Mike T has a natural born immunity. :D

Yeah, it's a pretty decent deal. I looked around..

Fortunately, I already have two shotguns. Had I not had a home defense shotgun (ithaca 37 copy: Brolin 37), I would have probably bought it. Granted, the red dot is somewhat pointless IMO.

That remington 870 security model is pretty nice too, and is in the same ballpark, so hard to say. I think it would just be cool to own a benelli, since they make bikes too. *shrug*

No, once you buy one piece, thats when it starts.

MikeT has none.

Naw, I think it's a genetic predisposition, like Indians and their liquor. They can't resist the call, and spend all their time liquored up.

Mike T on the other hand, even if he ever gets around to buying one gun, will still spend years debating whether to spend his next $500 on a turbo Busa, ricing up his Civic, or getting his mom some new apron strings. :rofl

Didja know? The Barrett 50 cal is one of Mexico's most urgent new problems. Too bad they don't have an 'email the worthless hack responsible for this piece of shit' button.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/03/26/gun.smuggling/index.html

The guns confiscated included AK-47 rifles and dozens of Fabrique National pistols. The semiautomatic pistols fire a 5.7-by-28 millimeter round, which is technically a rifle round, according to the ATF. Newell says the round has a special nickname in Mexico. "It's called 'mata policias,' or 'cop killer,' " he says.

Technically, the .22LR is also a rifle round. :rolleyes

Mexican authorities along the border recently met with their counterparts in the United States, hoping more cooperation will lead to more arrests of criminals and fewer killings of Mexican police officers.

Woah, so does this mean they're going to start patrolling the border and controlling illegal immigration? Or continue to allow immigration and drug smuggling and just try to stop the guns?

Officer Cesar Quitana patrols a dangerous barrio in Juarez, Mexico. He is armed with an M16 assault rifle -- a weapon that would be no match in a gunfight with drug lords.

Huh, so even the Mexicans know the M16 platform sucks. :rofl

I've noticed lately, that since I've bought my first, I've been spending most of my time on the "private sales and parts" section on "calguns" looking to get my next baby and other stuff, instead of being on "barf". I think I have the bug bad. I've started selling stuff off to fund my next buy, things I don't use mostly. Do I give in, or deny the obsession. I can't help it!

Me too :(

Well damn, maybe now that the Mexican cops are finding out the door swings both ways, they'll try to lock the fuckin' door!

"In Mexico, guns are difficult to purchase legally. " :rolleyes

Yup. All the guns in Mexico are coming from the US? They need to face the fact that the only guns that are difficult to purchase in Mexico are the guns being purchased legally. The guys that are sitting on keys of coke, meth, heroin, and pot have access to whatever they want.

Finally saw 3:10 to Yuma. Way-cool movie, great gun handling, and a wide variety of period arms. All of the gun handling looked pretty good, except for one part when the Doc was shooting into the field that night at Dan's house, and they all came running out, right in front of his line of fire.

I never counted shots, because there was plenty of reloading... except right at the end when (not posting a spoiler!) where I thought he shot 7 people, one twice, with his six-shooter. :troy
But happily, I just watched it in slow-mo, and he shot 6 people, then re-shot one guy with that guy's gun.

A gun-perfect movie! :banana

It's amazing how you start noticing firearms in movies, and counting rounds, once you start owning.. :)

I am a fucking TROLL on calguns private sales forum. If any of the following show up, I'll be on it like a mofo: Remington 700 in 308, glock compact 9mm, and at some point a DE XIX.

Pretty interesting that those guys are using FN 5.7's! Damn narsty round to come out of a pistol if you ask me..

I loved it too. I think I was sold when Charlie Prince did that cool "same-side-same-hand-crossdraw-gun-flip" thing. :laughing I know the Cowboy Action folks have a term for it but damn if I know what it is. Very cool though.

Yep, and he was pretty quick with the draw and re-holster. Good stuff.

And I've always liked those S&W Schofields, even though they look kinda funny. :teeth
