How come I'm not surprised there's a gun thread on a motorcycle forum?

You guys are great!
I'll try to contribute something, so I'll start with some brief reviews of guns I currently own or have owned in the past:
S&W 629 .44mag Powerport - most accurate handgun I've ever shot, took a running wild boar at 74 yards with one shot... nuff said
Kimber .45 - renewed my belief in semi-auto handguns, it's a joy to shoot and it's relatively inexpensive
S&W 22a .22 caliber - great plinker, never jammed, cheap, feels like a toy, my next 22 will be a higher end target model
IMI Jericho 9mm + .40 (also known as Baby Eagle) - don't like shooting 9mm, the other caliber was outrageously expensive and hard to find, wouldn't buy it again, made me lose faith in semi-autos
IMI Desert Eagle .357 mag and .44mag - almost as awesome as the 629 Powerport .44mag, these are very heavy, very accurate and just a joy to shoot. surprisingly, I like the .44 mag better than the .357 mag
Calico M100 .22 - mini assault weapon with a 100 round rotary magazine, feels like plastic toy, not accurate, crap quality, jammed a lot, good thing they're banned
Remington 870 12 gauge - workhorse, can't go wrong with it, inexpensive
Churchill Monarch o/u 12 gauge - nice wood, nice gun, kicks like a mule, good buy if you find a nice used one
Browning Stalker w/ boss .270 and Leupold VariX2 - favorite hunting rifle, super accurate, not one complaint
Volquartzen 10/22 .22 - take a Ruger 10/22 and throw away almost the whole thing, then send it to Volquartzen and get back a tack driving machine with a 8x32 Redfield scope. it's ridiculously heavy and incredibly accurate and I'm still not sure why I own it, other than I had a huge bonus check at the time I had it done.
Beretta semiauto trap gun 12 gauge, 30" barrel - this is by far the best shotgun I've shot, very little kick, nice stock, just love it
Benelli Nova 12 gauge, synthetic stock - duck hunting workhorse, shoots any round, inexpensive, just a tool you don't mind leaning in the mud in the blind
S&W 340PD .357mag - well, I pick this one up next Sunday (10 days for me to cool off before I blow somebody away...

) but if you think a 12 oz. scandium/titanium .357mag will be "fun" to shoot, you're on crack! the guy that sold it to me included a leather glove with the index finger cut out so I don't destroy my hand when I shoot the first (and hopefully last) box of ammo through it... the purpose of such small handguns is not regular range duty...
In conclusion, I like most revolvers much better than the average semi-auto handgun. I like good quality pump shotguns or high end semi-autos - the over/under is just a "classic" but not as fun to shoot. A .270 caliber rifle is good enough for anything in California, but I'd be willing to go up to a 30/06 but NOTHING bigger - I don't like to kill my shoulder. I've learned my lessons and just don't buy cheap guns anymore - you eventually want to unload them anyway.
Happy shooting!
