Or, just get a 9mm but shoot 147gr +P rounds. Forty is such a stupid round :p Don't make me post that Excel spreadsheet I compiled of FBI bullet performance tests :p

:laughing aahaha damn Miran...!

is there such thing as too much powder for a gun? :p

I just think it's a stupid in-between round. Especially for Law Enforcement use (standard mags). You lose 25-50% capacity compared to 9mm, and gain 2-11% in wound volume, depending on the type of 9 and 40 ammo used. Might as well get a .45ACP.

:p the .45 is in consideration but damn!

Ammo is expensive...:(

There is an Yugo SKS at Big 5 that will be on sale at $359....

Very FUCKING tempting.

I have got to stop buying guns.:cry

How do you really feel? What about 10mm? :twofinger:laughing

I agree though man. .40, is nothing but a necked down .45, over powered 9mm. Not to mention the added kick it brings, reduces speed of target reacquisition.

I say fuck it, leave the 9 milly to the thugs. I'll bring a .45 and watch em drop.

ahha but im not so sure of a USP .45 :p

my preference of a .45 would be a 1911....and thats it

The Americans might have brought the .45 to the market first with the old 45 Long Colt and then .45 ACP, but like just about everything else relating to machinery, the Germans do it better.

If you want a real value in a .45, Taurus sells a couple 1911 models LOADED with custom features, that costs maybe $550 ;) :wow :cool

ahahah i never liked Taurus :p

i thought they're like China...replicate every gun out there

ahahaha

+1 I've seen their fully laid out model, that would rival a $1200+ Kimber. At a street value of $750

Shot a friends taurus 1911, if I didnt have a 1911 already, I would have bought a taurus. In fact I might still come income tax time.

They make the 24/7 and Millenium Pro all on their own :p And there's no such thing as copying a revolver or 1911, they're all pretty much the same. The PT-92 was under license, as was the Tracker.

And the Chinese learned copying by watching their cousins, the Japanese, who got their industrial start by copying everyone else and making it cheaper :twofinger

First-person (and one third-person) video highlights of yesterday's Western Nevada Pistol League USPSA match...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAzqToV_Frs

The third person video (GM class, Open division) is followed by first person (GM class, Limited division) of the same stage.

The "nice timing" comment is six shots on one target at 50 yards, fixed time of six seconds. The target is barely visible in the video.

This morning took an hour lesson with John G, who did the recent Utah CCW class in Martinez. Was well worth it. First worked with my Buck Mark. Then we tried out my new S&W. Right now she's a little dirty girl. I think she's purty as heck.

Was really neat the first time I fired her. John loaded the magazine, then had me chamber one round and drop the magazine. Fire it, he said. And BOOM! :laughing Scared me a lot. He laughed at my reaction and said, That's why I had you shoot just one round. The 1911 is nothing like shooting a Springfield XD.

The second or third time I shot her, I could feel the heat from the blast on my right hand. Then as I concentrated on the next shot, and fired, I saw fire leave the barrel. Now that was truly beautiful.

I flinched at least three times without firing and he liked that (the not firing). Just have to remember, he said, that the recoil will happen no matter what you do. Just get used to it and concentrate on your target.

We put 68 rounds through her (John fired two full magazines). Before I fired the last three full magazines, John put the target 3 yards in front of me and taped a blank white sheet over it. The goal: To fire rapidly by looking over and not through the sights. That was FUN!

Initially, and without firing my 1911, he suggested I have the trigger adjusted (it's @ 4 or 5 lbs. right now, he said) and since I'm shooting left-handed, to get an ambidextrous safety installed. He said if I have to rely on tritium night sights to shoot at night, then I shouldn't be shooting my weapon at all since I'm not seeing my target. So I guess no tritium night sights for me any time soon.

And yes, he bought those crappy American Eagle .22 cartridges off of me. :)
