That is what I figured. Which really I have no problem with a 20" barrel. Hell it'll make that stupid minimum length law easier to pass. What with no flash hider either... I'm ok with that too.

The thing I don't like is. They all come as THEY want them. Not as I want them. I would choose a different route of the handguard for sure, as a minimum. And most likely a different charging handle.

Also, the 6.8gren and spc ammo is GOT DAMN expensive comapred to the .243wssm.

Hey, why are you trying to neuter a AR15, it is the least expensive (free world rifle) caliber to shoot. If you can't afford that, then try 9mm. Just wait to see where ammo prices are in a year, I'm thinking less expensive.

I sure as damn hell hope prices come down. As of now the only gun I can really afford to run a crap load of ammo through and keep my skils somewhat acute, is a damn .22lr.

And I've finally decided that I am going to build a 5.56Nato AR-15 Gas Piston Upper. This is the quickest and easiest way to get one up and running. Since magazines for the 7.62, & .243wssm are more expensive, shooting cheaper ammo at a higher functioning cost. Makes no sense.

However, with 1 lower, I can still have multiple uppers for the factor.

Well, got back from the cow palace a little while ago, and of course, it was fucking bananas. It took me twenty minutes to get the door! First thing I did, was hit the miwall table. Walked away with a some goodies, then picked up a few ammo cans, SUPER clean by the way, and dirt cheap. Almost brand new 20mm ammo cans for $20!! and FAT 50 cal, ammo cans for $10!!! I spoke to vendor and he told me that his source tells him that some time in the near future, there going to ban the sales of military ammo cans. Don't ask me why. So, like everything else, get it now while you can.

Anyone that didn't go today, well, lots of luck tomorrow, but show up REAL early, I got there at 8:50 am and there was a really long line already. There was tons of EBR stuff also, and a few tables with some nice HK stuff. PRK was there with some nice ar's and HK's.

There was even a couple of tables with what looked like a version of mac 10's and
MP5's, overly priced by the way.

NO, I did not get a fackin' shamwow, or any damn beek jerky!

HR 1022 is a bill that is basically a rebirth of the Brady ban on assault weapons seen during the Clinton administration. It was introduced Feb 13, 2007 and was sponsored by New York Democrat Carolyn McCarthy and 67 co-sponsors. It was later referred to the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, where it bogged down.

“But that could change in the 111th Congress, sworn in today,” writes Unruh, who cites Alan Korwin, author of Gun Laws of America. Korwin mentioned H.R. 1022 in a recent commentary.

Korwin said the plan would allow the U.S. Attorney General – possibly Holder – to add to the list of guns banned to the public any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”

“Note that … Holder … wrote a brief in the (District of Columbia) Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home,” Korwin said.

H.R. 1022 states that “there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.”

According to Korwin, H.R. 1022 “virtually dismisses the principles of the Second Amendment.”

2. In 1994, a list of attributes determined whether or not a gun was a 'semiautomatic assault weapon'. Two attributes were required. Under H.R.1022, only one attribute is required.

3. The attributes defining 'assault weapon' is greatly expanded. Barrel shrouds are now included in the defining attributes for an 'assault weapon', so this bill could be considered the Hughes Amendment equivalent for evil, black rifles.

4. All transfers of 'large capacity feeding devices' are prohibited.

5. Private transfers of assault weapons are prohibited.

6. Conversion kits can not be owned. If you own a a post ban firearm, whatever that looked like, you could not own a pistol grip or barrel shroud that would turn it into an 'assault weapon'.

The new Democratic Congress and the fact that it is expected Obama will will appoint at least one or two Supreme Court justices could easily and may very well breath new life into this legislation and further the continued attack on our 2nd Amendment. We must remain vigilant for any updates on this legislation and oppose it at every opportunity. It has not yet been voted on and may still be.

My Dad finaly get a Saiga. He was thinking four months ago when price was $385. We walk in today and at Cold War Shooters .223 Saiga with 20"bbl is $999!!!!!! He almost had a heart attack! Then I walk to the corner where Bullseye set up its table and they have exactly the same rifle for $599!!!
Tsunami hit reloaders tables. By the time I got there (9:30) smal primers were gone.

Good call......funny, i'm doing a PPT tomorrow a.m. on the same model. Found a gunny who'll install the Ghost Connecter on my Glocks. Same as a factory 3.5# trigger job, but also takes most of the pull out of the trigger. Shot a Glock 21 with one installed last weekend at USI and was immediately sold on it Gonna make my Glocks fun to shoot again after being spoiled by 1911s.

Got there when they opened, got my .45s and .40s from Miwall out to the car and did my walk around. Was amazed at the line for reloading supplies. And yes...CWS are the $$s. Their black HK USC was $500.00 more than Bills at Bullseye, at the same show. I've been telling Bill he needs to do these shows bigtime, He'd make a killing there. CWS gave me the snub last show about pricing after i told em what i could get a Saiga for locally (and did). At opening at Miwall, a couple dudes bought what must have been at least 15,000 rds or more of winchester .45 and .40 I was just like holy shit!!!!!!!!!! Still a fun day for me.

PPT tomorrow a.m. a Glock 23 and then shooting. If you guys really need ammo cans, i'll save mine up and ya'll can just have em (Been tossing mine in the trash too). Plastic and metal one both.
