BARF Militia

Saw one of those and almost got it. Thinking once i go thru all my old stuff, i'll only be picking up my .45s anyway so why spend the money. Now i wish i had it :(

Anybody know the deal with Federal NT .45 cases? All have small pistol primers in them. Bought some a while ago and didn't notice that until someone picked one up and showed me the primer. Are they all like that marked NT? Just curious. Once i get thru the spent cases i'll just give em to someone who may want em or toss em.

I found out about the nt cases last week as i popped a primer trying to prime one, it was a good thing i was wearing my safety glasses:thumbdown
nt stands for non toxic as they use a lead free primer, the flash hole is also larger then normal due to the primers. there are a few other brands that do this as well. some people actually reload them with the small pistol primers but in my case i would have to change out parts on my machine just to load 100 cases and it's really not worth the time and effort so i just throw them into my scrap bucket:thumbup

Al you need to come over and check out my reloading setup so you can see how easy it really is to reload and how cost effective it can be, oh and send me a link to where you got bullets and primers as i just finished up the 1500 i had and now NEED MORE!!!!!:rofl

oh and i forgot to mention that i found a way to make those shell sorters for about 3 bucks per sorting plate. let me know if you want some:thumbup

You, me and Jaded (Steph?) and our little conversation sat nite? You were only drinking sasparillas so i know you weren't loaded yet.

:laughing ahahhaa that beer on tap was good *and a tad bit lil stronger then the beer i usually drink* :p and i was talking with a lot of folks *in which i forgot their name :(* so i barely remember what we were talking about...all i remember was either mosin and shooting on sunday :p

and nice chatting with ya Miran at your shop :teeth :thumbup

OK, Barf Militia range trip at Chabot on the 15th. Be there or be, well, not there.

Sweet. Hopefully I'll have the extractors changed out on my Marlin by then so I can do a test run.

On a side note, anyone ever have work done at Imbert and Smithers in San Carlos? I dropped off a stripped Winchester 1300 to have the mag tube swapped out for an 8-rounder 6 weeks ago and still haven't heard squat from these guys. I know they said they were backed up and was going to take several weeks, but WTF?

Missouribullet.com had the bullets to me in a matter of days. The post office may call you and make you come pick em up yourself though. They use the std shipping boxes that are heavy as shit.

Gonna call Cabelas tomorrow about my primers. They promised they'd ship this week, but i'm still hearing horror stories about constant backorders. The clubhouse was the cheapest i've seen so far for both primers and powder though.

We need to talk :thumbup

Anybody going to Skips tomorrow? Haven't seen a post yet.

Edited to add......Powder Valley won't even take backorders for primers.........

Got my CCW renewal class coming up and no ammo for it. I've got a case of 121 JHP and a jug of IMR 7625. Anybody got a 9x19 load for 121-124 jacketed with 7265?

Just a Heads up but Big 5 have mosins at $99.

After DROS and tax it would come out to $135.

Paging Miran

Just curious if there's even a semi-remote chance of getting fairly vanilla ammo in Alameda county or somewhere nearby - maybe Contra Costa?

I think I can make it but Tuesdays are kind of tough. What time is everyone meeting at the range?

15th is a Saturday. ;)

I'll probably be there by 10. I'll post it up in the social gatherings forum when it gets closer.

Whoops, I was looking at Sept 15. Aug 15 should work.

You've found my Achilles' Heel...come in on my day off and ask Patrick or Kelly for it :cry

Hey now, are you saying I should do so or it was presumptuous of me to do so? Kelly showed me the one on the rack but didn't mention your hidden jewel. If I had only known I would have whipped out cash money there and then!:p
