Why didn't you post that!! :laughing

I'm still happy with my purchase and will post pics after I pick it up.

Mossberg's:barf :barf
The 870 Express is a fine gun! It'll last a few lifetimes if cared for correctly. Which is not much work.
Let us know when you get it and want to kill some clays.:cool

Anyone get thier hands on the Benelli auto loader?:grin $1400.00 price tag:(

Big 5 had Mossberg 500s with the 28" AND 20" barrels for $219 :teeth Should've gone with that

The 870 has a very strong and reliable receiver and operating mechanism with two slide rods as opposed to just one for the mossberg. Both are fine guns but I think he made an excellent choice.

Of course my preferrence is for the Winchester 1300 Defender as the action is the slickest I've felt. :)

Personally, I think it's great any time someone buys a new gun, no matter which brand or model.

It's like a holiday! :bday :jtt :flag Let's celebrate and go shooting!

Guns. So addictive. I can stop anytime I want though. Really. :x

I was looking at the Benelli Nova, as well. My main reason for going with the Remington was more aftermarket support (at this time and to the best of my knowledge).

The Benelli does allow you to use 3 1/2" shells.

Of course, now that I have the Remington, the Benelli M1 is piquing (sp?) my interest. . .

The Benelli M1 is a great shotgun, with one possible exception. It is an alloy framed 12ga., so it does kick quite a bit. Slugs are .... an experience :laughing Not too terribly bad, but after shooting ~100 rounds of .308 then touching off a few 12ga slugs, well.... the shoulder was feeling it.

Indeed - I second that. I had coveted the M1 Super 90 for many years before I bought one - an 18" barrel with 5 round magazine and ghost ring sights. I had expected the semi-auto action to dampen recoil, and was surprised to find out that since it is recoil-operated (not gas-operated), and so light, it still kicks quite a bit.

Still, though, it's nothing I'd need to towel my shoulder over :laughing

nova is too new to have great aftermarket support. Right now I'd go with the 870, but maybe in 5 years...
