The SNAP guys will appreciate this:

JKD was one of our SNAP BARF regulars before he went out of state and became LEO:

Got this from DeadMeat over the weekend:

Nice to see one of our mall-ninja students learning something in our tactical pistol classes.

Good going JKD! Those were some of the fun days of SNAP!

How come nobody answered this?

It's true. You can get AR-15 knock-offs in California, the lowers have sealed magazine wells which you have to load like a Garand, stripper-clip style. Load 10 rounds, shoot, separate lower-from-upper, load, shoot. It's a pain in the butt and a disgrace to Eugene Stoner. I'll never buy one.

A better alternative is the CA-legal FALs. Loads the same way but the "fixed magazine" is a reversible mod that you can put back to normal the minute you get out of California. At $1200+ though it's pretty dang pricey.

ca legal FAL's? where????? i just looked around i cant find any resources on these. please update me

xtasie99[/i] [B]So some drunk guy at a party last night told me you could buy CA legal lowers for assault rifles said:

I didn't even see that original post. But, that supposition "you don't need a assault rifle to target shoot" is false for two reasons:
- "assault rifle" is a legal definition rather than a functional one, and
- Rifles & handguns that have been defined as, and banned as assault weapons are required for many types of target shooting competitions, including Olympic competitions.

The ARs described by Scorp aren't competitive in target shoots, because they cannot be reloaded quick enough within the time allotted for shooting.

Entreprise Arms, and so does DSA apparently (can't find info on that though). It has a modified dust-cover (loads from stripper clips), and a fixed magazine (release lever). When you get back out to Free America, it's about a $50 (and some know how) mod to convert it back to a standard mag-fed FAL.

Lots of info over at Calguns too.

You are a counter-monkey at a BIG 5 dude. That ain't exactly the pinnacle of success. Go get in the back and pull me up a pallet of Wolf bitch boy. :twofinger

Except I'm 19 and in my second year (of four) of Mechanical and Aeronautical engineering :twofinger

Anyone up for Golf with Guns? A few friends and I are going to Coyote Valley Sporting Clays on Sunday morning around 10 am. We'll do some clays and some trap and if we have enough people we will do an "Annie Oakley"
If you don't have a shotgun don't worry they rent them there. $.10 a shot figure 10 bucks for 100 rounds. They mostly have Browning over unders set up for clay's.

anyone else going to be at chabot tomorrow morning for the IPSC match?

I'll be there.
