Bought a bunch of whiz stock when it was $0.14 and just sold it at $11.00, combined $6bil in the gta bank. Something tells me there won't be stocks in gta online

Haven't had a video game system in a while, but am thinking about grabbing a 360. They're only $160 new on Amazon. Is it worth trying to buy a used one on CL, or is it best to avoid that and stick to a new one?

I'd avoid CL for a 360. Just buy the "new" one.

Or shell out a bit more and get a PS4. If you haven't owned a console in a while why not just get the latest gen that just came out and will last you several years?

Yeah dude, at this point I think it would be a waste to buy a 360 or a PS3 right now. I told my buddy about Scuf controllers and he really wants to get one, but the same logic applies. 360 is getting phased out, so why get anything else for it at this point? This last wave of games we just saw the past couple months are the last AAA titles that will be available on the last gen hardware. Everything major scheduled for release is for XBox One/PS4 only.

Good to know. I guess I was thinking I'd be cool playing a lot of the older games. I mean, I just picked up borderlands 1 like a year ago. I figure there would be lots of cheap/fun games for a casual gamer like me to play. Are either of the two back compatible?

ps4 will allow you to play ps3 games you have bought over the psn, but you cant play disc based ps3 games on the ps4.

xbone just straight up wont let you play any 360 games on it

It's all good if all you wanna do is play the older stuff. If you wanna do the multiplayer stuff online, then you kinda gotta stay with the current games.

Hell, my buddy bought an OG Nintendo and has been buying up NES games.

I was up at my grandmas for Christmas and had planned on grabbing my OG Nintendo and taking it back from her place, but apparently one of my cousins took it for her kids :mad. At least it went to a good cause...but that was my first console and the thing still worked perfectly after 20 years.

Not sure what ever happened to my N64, but I've contemplated buying another one of those too...just for OOT and Mariokart 64. And maybe WCW vs NWO Revenge. That game was a shitload of fun. I tried playing goldeneye and perfect dark on an N64 a year or so ago and I'm just too accustomed to modern FPS games now so it was no fun.

Kinda my thoughts. I haven't played any of the halo games or any other 360 game. I figure I should be able to get lots of great stuff for $10-20 a game. The new systems look awesome, but I don't even know how much I'll play it, and am hesitant to drop $500 on a new systems + games. I've also never played multiplayer stuff, so that shouldn't bother me too much.

Yea, I got rid of my original xbox, but I still have my SNES.

GTA stocks
Looks like water & power is at an all time low. Was over $200 a month ago, now at $3
Haven't played it in awhile. Has the stock market started working online yet? Apparently you need $90M to buy the jetpack.

And a bunch of hoops to jump through to unlock the jetpack to begin with...

Last dumb question - Will the 4gb version of the 360 work if I'm only playing games? I don't plan to download much of anything, so can't really see the point in getting the 250gb version. Any unforeseen issues with sticking with the base model?

You should be fine. As long as you don't plan on installing the games on the hard drive or downloading a bunch of content, 4gb should suffice.

Went ahead and bought a new 360 for $160 on Amazon. Grabbed used copies of Halo 3 and Armored Core. The new systems look great, but I couldn't justify $500 for a system + $60 for games given I won't play all that much. Anyway, are there any other good older games that I missing out on? I prefer FPS games, but am open to whatever. Seems like pretty much every 360 game that I've looked it is $5-20 used.

I used to love Rainbow 6 for the original Xbox. Is Vegas the first 360 version?

I played both of the Rainbow 6 Vegas games. I liked em. Campaigns are pretty short but there's always the terrorist hunt mode where you just clear the map of bad guys and that'll eat up hours of time.

I have a few super NES games I would give to someone free if they want them. Xenophobe and 1 other I can't remember right now.

Also have a PS2 with a bunch of games I'd sell for cheapy cheap. interested?

AFA new consoles and playing online: I have a group of guys already on PS3, and they're refusing to get the PS4 for now. So we're sticking with PS3 for a little while longer at least. I was going to get it, then hand my PS3 down to my son, but I guess I'll wait for now.

My boy is almost 10. He's a gamer-in-training. He's begging and pleading to play COD with me. I think Imma break down and do it. He's really in to WWII for some reason right now, so I figure we could start with World at War and go from there. While I don't feel like it's probably the best move for a parent, honestly I'm really looking forward to connecting with him this way.
