CA Legacy Plates program

Dammit! The Black on Yellow pre-orders are only at 1820! :mad

I'm probably going to have to ask for a refund.

New plates will be reflective, not flat paint. When the camera flashes it won't make any difference what the colors are.
 
I want the black on yellow, but there's only 1800 votes or so for that style. :(

They said on the news that the black and yellow is going. It's the 50s and 70s that don't have enough desire yet. Personally. I want a 70s for my Monza. :D

Read the fine print. You have to mail it in. They won't accept it in person at any of the DMV offices.

I have a request in for a blue background plate,which doesn't look like it will achieve critical mass. I'm trying to figure out how to change my order to the black background, which is what I probably should have ordered in the first place.


As for the question about "voting", you vote by sending a $50.00 check to the DMV at the address indicated on the official form. :cool
 
if i could get one of the yellow with black letters it would make my bike look imported:cool

Don't change it! I'm going to order a blue one as well! :D It just hit the official news this morning (at least htat's the first I've heard of it) I'm sure there will be plenty of people after them.

So I should risk not getting one and stick with the blue background because you want blue? :rolleyes

You need 7500 of a given type for them to be produced. Black background has passed that point. Blue background has less than 1500 so far, after a year. It's not looking good for that one. The yellow background is only slightly better with a little over 1800 orders. Both of those are a very long way from 7500.

I didn't feel all that strongly about blue or black background, but managed to pick the wrong one, apparently. I would rather have the one I can get for sure than hold out for one I'm not likely to get.

Your v-8 Monza has blue plates. Just use that vin! Save the plates, all is well.

That's true. The one I just snagged does have original blue plates. The guy it from had some hassles because of a special dispensation that got hung up over them, though. I was thinking I might try to avoid the hassle, let those go and get reissue.

Looking like that might not be an option though. :laughing
