CA Legacy Plates program

Hey everyone, just wanted to share this with all of you - in case you were interested in getting a more vintage looking plate for your bike.

I've already put in an order for the yellow on black one for my '71 CB350, its not exactly period accurate, but close enough!

yes, you have the option of a personalized plate, or to replace the existing plate you have.

The black background is the only one that made it. Didn't get enough signed up for the black on yellow or yellow on blue.

I got my refund check yesterday because I ordered the wrong one - the blue one. I'll be sending in the request for the black background plate later today.

Hahah, wow, I forgot about this one. I ordered the black background plate for my CB350. Wonder when they're going to start shipping them out.

I got my letter a couple of weeks ago saying my black and yellow plate would be here in 4-12 weeks. :/

Yay!

Only the 1960s plate reached the required 7,500 orders before January 1, 2015 to go into production

I got my letter the last week of June. The one saying I could pick them up showed up in the mail today and I dropped everything and picked them up. Expect them by the end of October.

Thank you for putting it on a somewhat period correct moto (original yellow on black plates were issued from 1963-1969). I saw a legacy plate on a 2015 Hyundai the other day and all I wanted to do was

I see the legacy plates every day on new black BMWs, Benzs, saw one on a Tesla too.

i had an application with dmv get lost along with the original paperwork, in order to get my legacy plates re-instated. long story, but an out of state friend ordered the plates from http://www.licenseplates.tv/ and the dmv allowed them

They don't have California listed in the states available.

Ouch, I see that they dropped California since I last tried them, bummer.
I'll let you know if I come across something besides buying a used plate on the secondary market, which may not be what you want.
