Coal Rolling?

Outside of the Bay Area, I see these trucks used to haul everything from boats, campers, and trailers etc...

What impresses me are the ones pulling a trailer with 4-5 vehicles on it...

SRS.

The power wars in process between the big three are seriously amusing me. Only because it's amazing how stupid American consumers are. What the fuck are you trying to tow with a medium-duty truck that you need 800 ft-lbs of torque to accomplish the task?! :wtf

Yep, they really need all that torque to haul a couple bikes. :thumbup :laughing

Install a 5th wheel in your truck and haul a big boat or camper, then I might be impressed.

That tow vehicle has more power than my Ranger. :laughing :| :cry

I really loved my 24v when I had it and cant wait to swap a 12v into my '68 gmc, but hope the diesel coal trend is over by the time its done. Truck woulda bee cool bagged with stacks but the bros kinda ruined it for me.

and PS: HP and Torque are only part of the equation when towing. Suspension and brakes are equally as important... Lots of people forget that

I'm planning a 12v swap into my '84 Chevy, but it's never getting lowered or stacks. Work rig is for working. Not for show, or coal rolling douchebaggery.

You use the same argument about gasoline octane ratings.
The companies selling this crap are shoving commercials down everyone's fucking throat about needing this much octane to use your new powerful car (or truck), or needing this much power to tow your big-assed boat. Will a medium-duty truck pull a trailered boat? Up a steep hill? In summer?
The bigger the motor, the easier it'll be, period.

Why is it that people are stupid for doing nothing more than responding to a never-ending barrage of information that they need to weed through and verify sources for before believing? Oh no, my motor is more powerful than I need, whatever will I do, I'm so stupid.

Mine will still get bagged but no stack. Will be nice loading bikes into a truck with a tailgate height of a few inches :thumbup

Lowered longed is the ultimate easy bike hauler, not ground scraping low tho. Bags mitigate the odd geographic obstacle

tailgate should side about 6 inches from the ground when its laid out. Wont be raising the bed floor for this project. Ultimately just a everyday "work" truck

That is incredibly fucked up but I am ashamed to admit I got a kick out of it. I can see where that might be a usable mod if I had a diesel.
What impresses me is that people put the time into this.

:wtf
Because sooting someone down with carcinogenic exhaust is SOO funny.

This is the act of a complete douche.

I mean, we have emission regulations for a reason (too many people being harmed by particulate pollution) - yet these 'special people' think its fine for THEM to make whatever noise and pollution that THEY want to - these drivers should be sentenced to 24 hours in a 'soot room' filled with the product of their own vehicle.

That's an awfully heavy motor.

Your 6.2, will, incidentally, fit better in my Kaiser than a 12V, and they make transmission adapters for that one.

Find yer 12v and we'll do two engine swaps in a weekend.

i do dig that diesels are coming into the rat rod scene now

The funny thing is, if they added some air to all that wasted fuel it'd be instant hp. So much wasted fuel... The fact that its smoking so much with no load just shows how much the tune is out of whack. MOAR Turbo!

So, when I posted this, one part of me, the logical side of me, thought 'this is fucking retarded and these guys are half wit morons.' But then the side of me that always likes to take the contrarian point of view kinda took a perverse enjoyment out of how many heads were exploding on all these lib web sites about it. Which made me think this was is epic real world trolling. You can hate the game, but still have respect for the genius of the player.

i dont know about that. wasted fuel perhaps. i think once you change injectors youre gonna get smoke if you want that much power. i mean you ever been to the truck and tractor pulls? those are built and tuned diesels and the smoke they put out is insane. you can roll smoke without load, just spool up

Still better than Dodge's faux-Peterbuilt styling. :laughing

Oh but wait, now they've "updated" it with an ultra-shiny chrome mesh grill, gaudy as hell :laughing But you see, they want to capture some of the "urban" market ---- you know, the people who want bling more than they actually need a truck :laughing

Oh and check out the ridiculously huge "longhorn" badge they came out with now......it's bigger than 2 fists put together!! A fucking embarrassment :thumbdown

reminds me of those ugly rodeo belt buckles.

but I don't know man this is some retarded styling competition.
The first ones they released had black grills

but within a few months they all disappeared and replaced with this ugly shit
