Cycle Gear buying Revzilla

Not exactly going to lose sleep over it, but yeah, it's a shame. I liked their Anthony's reviews and I doubt those will continue.

BTW, my local CG is not that bad, I appreciate a place to drop in and pick up something I need now.

+1. Plus Revzilla have reviews on bikes too. In additional, their blog is pretty informative. Lastly, they have a good database of users reviews that helps folks evaluate real word usage.

Hopefully they can bubble up the good things between the two company.

This totally sucks. I love Revzilla. They had good prices and the delivery of their products was super fast, and free too.

I could be wrong, but my guess is it would be mad to collapse the two brands. Revzilla has a distinct brand and web presence, and is generally up-market from CG. Any deal to buy them would likely recognize that brand value as goodwill. Collapsing Revzilla into CG would immediately drive that to $0. My guess is that Anthony and his videos stay.

OTOH, integrating their SC, accounting, legal, and marketing functions - while maintaining distinct brand presence - would give greater market power and reduce total costs.

We'll see who's right, but that's my guess. :dunno

Thanks. People pay me money for this shit, so BARF, you're welcome. :laughing

Like I said, time will tell who's right, but that's what I'd do. :dunno

idk about MCSS

Also Motorcycle-Superstore

Idk about MCSS.
Twice they sent me someone's returned items as new when they clearly weren't.
Come on you don't send a scratched up previously installed part, and sell it as new.
If it has oil and dirt on it and its been installed ,its used and should be sold as a used part!
Called them out on it twice and they only offer a paltry 10% discount on used parts..
Really? That bites chunks bad IMO.
bad bidness for sho.

:x

Definitely good points.

I would bet my lunch that the majority of RevZilla remains the same—after all, their culture, brand, values, etc. are what make it so successful.

I could see CG piggy-backing off their suppliers, distribution channels, fulfillment, CS, and eCommerce platform. In other words, buying the foundation that RevZilla has built and using it as a step stool to reach new heights.

I like how RevZilla's business model was eCommerce that took care of customers and offered honest reviews and helpful customer service.

Weird.. how that works.

I, for one, welcome our new Bilt overlords

naaah not really. Glad the Revzilla guys made out well, though.

Kinda surprised to see so much hate for CG. The one in SF has been really good to me.

It's also basically the only brick-and-mortar place where I could go try a bunch of stuff on when I was trying to figure out what fit.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from RevZilla, and I've been really impressed with their service, but sometimes being able to go to the store is nice.

Wow so much hate for CG. I like having a brick an mortar store to go try things out before I buy and don't mind the prices at all. Plus I love there sedici brand and life time warranty . Nothing but good products at great prices if u ask me ..revzilla.. personally never buy from them because I like to try before I buy. .. can't comment on them
