Cycle Gear buying Revzilla

C/G does not price match. Last year I went into P\ H store with MCSS info on the iPhone for rear PitBull, shipped to my door. C/G was about $20 more + tax. I went to MCSS site and showed them the price and they wouldn't even budge on the price. This was not the first time. The year before the same on Arai Vortex. I don't know why I even give them the chance. Not much moto knowlage and cheap ass products. The only thing in the store I like is the Motoul brake fluid. They have fucked up two rims mounting tires with no satisfaction to correct it . FUCK C/G and if this is true FUCK Revzilla, I just spent about 1k with Rev in Jan.

I'm online shopping now

If you can't beat them then buy them?

I am a fan of revz and have made many purchases there. They have a great selection of summer riding apparel that is both safe and reasonably priced.

Can't help but think this is a bad thing for us.

Sounds like you have a.local store run by idiots.... my experience at CG has always been the polar opposite at the modesto store... you should call corporate.. the squeaky wheel get the grease you know . Corporate number one goal is to.make happy customers.. a store run by idiots just want to clock in to get a check

Curious, at the Pleasant Hill store did you talk to Avissa (sp) the manager? She's good and I've never failed to have any issue resolved to my satisfaction.

i like CG, but revzilla has a quality of service, and their website is actually good.

CG's website is utter dogshite.

+1 for Aveesa. She's the only reason I go to CG Pacheco for anything (only when she's working).

Yes.

Revzilla is more than just a shopping site, their Common Thread and excellent videos made them standout.

I agree completely. While I buy from both STG and ZLA, ZLA is a step above in their video reviews.

Meh, I get a veterans discount from both cg and revzilla.

The only reason I buy online is to avoid paying sales tax.

You may all be reading too much into this.

I bet part of the acquisition agreement is that Anthony and friends have to stick around for a few years and keep the video reviews, site, and such going. At least that's how that works in the tech industry: key employees and their services are a part of the deal. "Golden handcuffs" is how it is called.

Of course, CG can screw it up, but that we can't tell until it happens.

Brick and mortar stores will not match online prices unless it's thier own. Online retail and actual stores are almost 2 completely different types of buisness. Online retail doesn't have half the overhead a brick and motor does. This is common between every company and if you do get someone to price match an online company other than thier own you should feel obligated to go give them a 5 star review.

Best buy does. It's awesome.

She's the one I tried to buy the Arai from
A different guy with the pit bull
I'm just through with the joint. I should have learned after they trashed an EPM and a Barroni .
I normally like buying from local stores. But for M/C stuff it's all going to be online. Returns are easy and I have had great experiance for at least 15 years

Agreed, if I had to pay sales tax on revzilla products, they have lost their advantage with me. I would just go ahead and purchase from motorcycle superstore.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't price match the Pit Bull but I do know they can't budge on Arai and Shoei due to manufacturer price locks, and they get in deep shit if they change a price on any of those.

I bought the Arai Vortex from R/M and saved $100.
Pit Bull from MCSS and saved the tx and free shipping on each
JW for tires for the last 15yrs
Rick at R&M in Concord mounts my street tires and does a great job, and never leaves a mark.

Don't forget to read their FAQ about it.

tl;dr: ZLA wasn't acquired. JW Childs and ZLA founders are teaming up to own both, while still keeping the two companies separate. Think Zappos & Amazon.
