Dating is Expensive, Holy Hell!

Speaking of having a woman over, I connected with a girl from OKC yesterday and suggested we get together for a cooking date as a first date, but when we actually spoke I suggested we meet for drinks...she brought up the cooking date and I said I'd be happy ton do it but didn't want to pressure her...I realized she actually wanted me to press her a little and convince her to come over for the first date...I'm tempted...I've had girls over on the first date usually ends with some making out or sex action, but it's not necessarily what I'm looking for for a first meeting.

You guys both have to be on the same page financially. If she thinks blowing 100 bucks on a sushi dinner is a good deal and you don't, you'll need to get another girl friend.

Wouldn't two girlfriends just be twice as expensive???

That's what I thought this thread was going to be about. Dating multiple people is hella expensive.

Why would you want to be stuck in your home with this person for potentially a couple of hours before even laying eyes on her?! What if she's boring/annoying/fucking crazy, or there is just no chemistry? Maybe it's just me, but I need to vet someone before inviting them to my place.

Once there IS an invite though, oooooh yeahhhhh :laughing

I understand the point your making, but that is not always the case. You want to make tiramasu for dessert? Well you need $5 chocolate, $12 vanilla extract, $9 in coffee, $6 in lady fingers, $20 for rum, $5 for eggs, $2 for cream, $6 for mascarpone cheese, $5 in sugar and $5 in milk. Just like that you have $75 invested with dessert if you don't already have the ingredients.

The idea for me behind going out to dinner is simply so I don't have to invest the time in preparing the meal. My time is more valuable than $45, that's why I wouldn't bat an eye at an $85 tab if that's what it came to.
From that list I'm very likely to have chocolate, vanilla, coffee, rum, eggs, sugar, and milk around. Most of those last very well if you don't make things very often, too.

Will you PLEASE let us wash the dishes next time?!?

I always start on them, then she runs me out of the kitchen.

Dating is as expensive as you make it. It doesn't have to be an expensive meal. Hiking, picnics, etc are fun and you get to know each other better.

Ssh, K, don't give tips. Just keep on letting on that everything is always like how it is on Entourage.

Dubs-I hope your new girlfriend is worth a great deal more in value then money can represent.
Kru is one of the best places to eat fresh sushi in Sacto in my opinion. I am easily going to spend lots of money eating through a terrific menu and I don't mind picking up the tab for an evening well spent.

Holy balls!!! I LOVE Kru and have been racking my brain for its name for years. Went there after my grad school ceremony 7 years ago. Bit of a drive from east bay.

We went to sushi house in alameda. Good nut not high end so a couple could easily do $50 and be good. Mijori in Oakland is my hands down favorite.

I'm not a cheap bastard by any stretch, just getting used spending more on food going out then I'm used to.

I definitely like her as I've already built her bed, added shelves to a cabinet and planning to make her a surprise coffee table to match this amazing couch she bought.
