Do You Mountain Bike?

First time riding the Marin Headlands...decent training loop!

From the GG Bridge, our loop was: Coastal > Miwok > Old Spings Road > Marincello > Bobcat > Coastal

Today's ride:

13.71 miles, 3100 ft of climbing

What is your typical loop?
That would be one of them... The other is to continue across the parking lot after the Old Springs Road and go up the other Miwok. There is some getting off and pushing the bike up the hills. It gets to the other side which has alot of easy riding and not much climbing. This would probably be an all day ride. I have taken off from my house and returned 6 hours later going through those trails. It dose loop around back to Tennesse Vally Road too if you like. Then you can go back up Marincello for that long climb.

Instead of going up the Miwok trail after Coastal in the other trail which I believe is the Alta Trail. It takes you down that hill that you look up when you are about to turn on to Old Springs Rd. It is a blast to come down..

Sorry I saw this so late. Next time, just call dude. :)

Thanks again John - and everyone else who responded to me :thumbup You guys are all awesome - as much as I love living down here in San Luis, I'm looking being back up there to hang out / ride mountain bikes / ride roadbikes / do trackdays / go racing with everyone again!

Getting there...

A sequence of pics of me on one of the bigger LiveWire jumps at Northstar. :) Just one more weekend until they close the MTB park :(

Ah, good to know -thanks!:thumbup

Those climbs weren't too bad, sorta reminded me of Brandon and McDonald trails at Lake Chabot...but a wee bit steeper.

I'll be at doing a loop at Redwood today if anyone wants to go. 4pm at Skyline Gate:)

Anyone work on bikes on the side.

My Stumpjumper fell off of a Thule rack (a supporting strap broke) at about 45 mph. I would like to find out what is wrong and get it fixed asap.

I live in Lafayette, someone near me would be great. Cash would be paid!

Bests,

I was just looking at the web site and they are saying an inch of the fluffy stuff Saturday night

There are plenty of good trail around here so no biggie

Wish I could make a Northstar trip with you guys! Unfortunately, it's not something I can squeeze into the budget right now.

Since it's local, I'll probably be racing the Parkfield XC race this weekend. Maybe the DH race too. College student entree fees are a lot less than the standard age group fees :)

Have a fun trip!

For you guys that did not make it up to North Star this year here is a little video of some of the hill

Enjoy

Very Nice!!! :applause :thumbup Makes me wish I was there right now... hopefully the weather holds out for this final weekend.

I have a bunch of helmet cam footage myself, but haven't had anytime to edit it... maybe after they close this weekend I'll have some time at home to work on it. :| What editing SW did you use?

Thanks for sharing... :cool
