Do you wear a watch?

Careful! The Prius has been replaced. :laughing

There is something to be said about having a watch that's is $20k and people know what you do for a living, that it might be unlikely you could ever afford that type of purchase. Or if you could, why would you if you made $50k or something.. Know what I mean?

Would be even funnier if ultra wealthy people wore fakes. No one would even question it!

I got my Omega used from Nucking Futz. Works for me. *shrug*

Some do. Depends what you define ultra wealthy. Some have collections of both gens and reps. Sometimes they'll buy reps to test drive a watch, so to speak, before pulling the trigger on the genuine.

I wear an Unobtainum. It cost $45K. It's bitchin. I'm bitchin.

Just kidding. A 50 year old Seiko is on my wrist right now. I just got a Swatch for $110 that is quote cool.

I used to have a timex weekender but I lost it.

Looks like you gotta use a tool to get to the tools...

I thought so too at first, but no, just take off the watch. The links rotate to make the tools usable.

I'm gonna vote 'no' on this one.

isn't Stuhrling one of those cheap knockoffs marketed in magazines next to a skin cream etc.

That said , it may fall in the 'price is right' bin so whatever.

p.s. at least it looks like a beautiful watch

Stuhrling is similar to Invicta. If your not a stickler it should work for your needs. I'm an affordable watch type of guy but if your like that style you can try an Orient or Seiko which are regarded a little more.

I recently made the mistake of checking out the latest Heuers and fell in love with an $8,500 grand carrera calibre 17 chronograph in black and red. Just a gorgeous watch. But $8,500? That's insane.

I have a Heuer Formula 1 that I paid around $600 for years ago that'll have to do. Even the Formula 1's are like $2k now.

cool watches are bitchn', but to wear a $20k plus piece of bling to impress other posers is tacky.

The class thing to do if you have excess disposable income is to help those that are struggling. Marine Mammal Center comes to mind, and Habitat for humanity is another.

My opinion.
Bling to impress shallow folks and to make hustlers rich? You should buy more diamonds. Shiny rocks that DeBeers had created some sort of market for. Like you should give them three times your monthly salary for a rock. A common rock. Common. Rock. Common, except DeBeers controls the world diamond supply.

Buy Jewelry if it makes you happy is cool. Not to impress the public. The public is largely morons.

Sorry for the rant.
Silly Humans.
Still, I dig bitchin chronographs...

Honestly, the thing that really stops me from buying an expensive watch is the fact that I'd actually have something valuable in the house for a thief to take. If someone broke into my house right now, they'd be really fucking disappointed. Given all the burglaries in our town lately, I want to keep it that way. Having an $8500 watch get legs on me would really piss me off. As they say, this is why we can't have nice things.
