Game of Thrones Season 8

You all covered most of my reactions but the one thing that kinda "confused" me is that it seems like almost everyone is dead but the miraculous few starring characters. But then, in the teaser for next week, it's like there are way more people left to now do battle with Cersei....

And how come so many were left in the crypt when they were locked in thar with all those banshee things? Oh, they "hid" in the shadows?? C'mooooooooooon. i think they can "see" in the dark pretty good.

But yes, episode was so dark that any kind of light in the room was messing with tv screen.

ok so after watching again the arya thing kinda makes sense maybe? they shouldve showed it though i didnt catch if they did. melisandre told arya she would see through many colored eyes and mentioned blue. arya changed maybe to look like a wight and maybe thats how she got by because she dipped out quick after talking to her in that room. :dunno

Im sorry guys, but I was sorely disappointed with how it all played out given the build up leading up to this event.
-Arya sneaks by all that undead and manages to leap out of the middle of nowhere and takes out the Night King with a cheap shot.

Why is Arya's move a cheap shot? Did you think whomever killed the Night King would just saunter up to him and fight?

Many flaws in e03. Most of y'all have listed them already too.

I still found it enjoyable and Arya has always been my favorite character. When the Red Witch told her "blue eyes" I got chills.

RIP:
Dolorous Ed
Lyanna Mormont
Jorah Mormont
Beric Dondarion
Theon Greyjoy
Melisandre
The Night King

RIP to those that fell. Props to Sam for not dying. Disappointed that the NK didn't last longer. I would have really liked one of those,"Mom, Dad, its me! Don't kill me!" moments in the crypt. Little Lady Mormont killed it! Literally.

“Back in Game of Thrones season three, Melisandre and her gang run into Arya, Gendry, and the Brotherhood Without Banners. Melisandre “buys” Gendry from the Brotherhood because she believes his blood is key to helping Stannis Baratheon. But Arya won’t let Gendry go without cursing Melisandre. It’s then that Melisandre looks into Arya’s eyes and tells Arya that she sees death in her future.”

“I see a darkness in you,” Melisandre tells Arya. “And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me: brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you’ll shut forever. We will meet again.”

... the Nigh King’s having just risen the Winterfell fallen helped Ayra stroll through ... she looked dead after smashing her face in the wall ... :laughing

won’t get my blue-eyed Cerci Queen of the Night, I guess, but some tantalizing clues in this last episode ...

lived up to the hype, imo ... :party

What do we say to death? :toothless

I had no real complaints about the episode, although I did want to see the Red Woman spontaneously combust into flames and walk into the trench to set it on fire. I think that would have been a fitting end for her.

In other news, some guys in the break room were talking about the Night King and if he’s a targaryan because of not burning and riding a dragon. I don’t think he is. I’m thinking not burning is just part of his magic and riding the dragon is because he controls dead things. Elephant, giant spider, dragon, whatever. The dragon is dead so it’s not a matter of whether the dragon accepts him as a rider or not. Dragon doesn’t have a choice.

The one that got me most was Melisandre (the red woman) telling everyone she wouldn't live to see the next day.

Survives the battle, sees the sun starts to rise.

...realizes she's still alive, so decides to kill herself?

She's a woman of her word! And very honorable.

When she's not burning children.

I have seen none of it. I hear there are dragons. I understand they are hawt.

I must be missing out.

Why is Arya's move a cheap shot? Did you think whomever killed the Night King would just saunter up to him and fight?

Cheap as in lazy writing. He manages to catch her during a sneak attack but can't stop her from dropping the blade and stabbing him. Listen, I can overlook all the other fan service like how most of the heroes had their backs to a wall buried in undead and yet somehow survive, but Im still pretty pissed how this scene played out. Arya the night king slayer while Jon was playing hide and seek with a dead dragon. GTFO here!

Guys, check out S3E2-6. Soooo much shit in there. (snip).

Holyshit good call! I watched those episodes before Sunday's and it was great to have those memories fresh. for the meeting with melisandre and arya, but also gandry and melisandre. When she takes/buys him from the brotherhood, she tells him he's destined for far greater things...a Baratheon-Stark child someday, hmmmmm??? :thumbup

So, the night king wants to kill bran especially, because he represents the memory of mankind (or something like that). That's what bran said the episode before.

When the night king was made, he was blonde...I'm not sure the timeline of when the targaryans showed up to westeros, but it would make sense to me that he was one of them.

If I'm guessing to try and connect stuff, I think the purpose Bran's wharging was somehow to keep everyone distracted/not thinking about arya, and/or giving the impression he's completely alone? He must have known, right?

I, personally thought it was a great episode. A little cheesy with the lady mormont death thing, but otherwise enjoyable. Yeah, it was hard to see at points. I'm sure on purpose, to create tension.

I was wondering how they were going to pack everything in to only a few more episodes. Sunday's episode answered that, haha.
