Lightning Strike e-bike

We should have a BARF field trip =P

Hey Scandalous, did you reserve a Carbon Edition? I went and visited the shop last year and was so impressed by everything I saw, and by Richard's passion for the future, that I put in my deposit for one as well.

Email Dave or Richard to set up a tour, if you can. They're super busy with production at the moment, but you dropped the cash so I'm sure they'd make time to show you around. I can't wait to see the Strike in person!

Thanks mista, I'll keep it in mind. I only did the $500 standard reservation though. I'm only a Kinda Important Person, not a $10,000 Carbon Edition VIP. :laughing

Butch, holy cow! So they have a test bike?? Ohhhhh man I can't wait to get on that thing. What were your thoughts on rider position, and how did the throttle feel? Any more photos??

There was a reveal I saw on their facebook page. They showed it at some event at Half Moon bay

Our Lightning Strike made its public debut at the Dream Machine event at Half Moon Bay on Sunday, April 28th. We met hundreds of motorcyclists who were excited to see the Strike in person. We also had the opportunity to meet some of the next generation of Lightning owners. All in all it was a very enjoyable day for our Lightning team.

No, it's not a test bike, and Richard knows I would have bought it if i crashed it. Perhaps I am an electric ambassador. Or perhaps it is a mod bennie. Plus I'm old.
Positionwise, it's kinda like my R6 but roomier...

The throttle on an an electric is pretty awesome, at least in my experience.

Rode down to San Jose yesterday to visit Lightning Motorcycle and see how they're coming along with building my new Lightning Strike. It's looking pretty nice. Huge thanks to Richard Hatfield and his wife JoJo. Super nice folks making dreams come to life! #lightningstrike #lightningmotorcycles #electricsportbike #electricmotorcycles — at Lightning Motorcycles

I'm setting up a BARF/ Lightning Open House July 27 at the San Jose shop.
Right by Metcalf and Uvas so lots of riding opportunities.

Stay tuned

Are you guys interested in an open house at their shop?

That would be cool I'd be down. They will probably have them at Refuel, maybe even race them? I just rode the SR/F and that bike might take out the Energica we'll see its definitely on par.

A while back Lightning was at a BMW bike night they had the LS-218.

I wanted to buy one a year ago and take it to the Isle of Man but they said they wanted the bike there when they were ready to race :)

Is that like a demo ride thing? Or just check out their store front?

I marked July 27th on my calendar when mentioned earlier, but that's hopefully getting very close to the ship date. I want to test ride and buy a 20 kWh but don't want to make multiple drives to SJ, it will take so many hours because the Zero doesn't have the range.

Demo rides on motos are really sketchy nowadays.
Contact Rich. They are cool.

But seriously, I won’t let someone ride or drive my stuff unless I know they will pay if something goes bad.
You just can’t control the folks texting while driving an Escalade. Or Hummer.

Good times will be had at Lightning on July 27. Announcement to follow.

Will they be at Refuel again? Refuel TT is on June 30th

I'd prefer doing like the Japanese manufacturers where they sell you the bike and will accept returns within 24 hours. I'm buying it for a 160 mile loop and have been traumatized by the other manufacturers, so here's hoping.
