Also spicy nuggets. Too bad most of the time the nuggets aren't fresh. But when fresh, they are amazing....

I'm guessing at whatever price it will sell for you could buy a real hamburger from another restaurant.

It's a touch under $8. What other restaurant are you going to with real hamburgers at the same price per unit of food? :laughing

Double Big Mac is pretty good but they really need to use the 2 quarter pounder patties for a Grand Mac. Please.

I have to laugh about spicy nuggets. I haven't tried McDs, but the ones at Wendys, they fry their french toast sticks in the same oil, so you get spicy french toast sticks!

At Chili's you can get their cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for $11. It's really good burger, IMHO. $11 is a steal. They have some other decent lunch deals also.

I honestly had my first Big Mac only a year or two ago. I don't like the new "fresh" Quarter Pounder, just doesn't taste the same to me. I find it really blah, so I tried the Big Mac.

And, yea, I like it. The whole package is pretty good.

I masticated the new quarter pounder last night. I like the new pillowy bun. Cheese appeared to be more melted than original version. The meat appeared to be juicier. The pickle was thicker and crunchier than original.

When did you try the Big Mac?

How do they ensure the bun is pillowy?

I’m still a Big Mac virgin. I don’t have a strict rule that I’ll never have one, its just that they look kinda gross and there’s always been better alternatives.

The problem with the Big Mac is that it's more bread than it is meat. I'll still have one occasionally though... :laughing

Just a year or two ago. I just kept trying the QP and found it lacking, and wanted something different so I steeled myself and went for it.

Indeed, it is.

It is a "sandwich". It's the whole package. I tend to not like "special sauce" on my burgers, which is one reason I avoid the Big Mac all these years.

But the whole package works for me, with the sauce, even with the pickles (which I typically pick off of burgers as well).

I certainly wouldn't pull the patty off and go "this is an amazing piece of meat". It's not. But with the whole kit, for me, it works.

I think the cheese ratio is off. And now that with the double mac, it’s waaay off.

My Big Mac is pretty weird. No pickles, no onions, no Mac sauce (sacrilege I know), and add mustard. I’ve stopped getting it that way though. Adding mustard isn’t an option on the self serve kiosk screens unfortunately. And I long gave up on ordering that way to a person at the counter or drive thru. The efficient way to say it is “Big Mac with only lettuce, cheese, and mustard” but when I do, or say it the long way with no this no that and so on, I watch the hamster wheel try to spin and then it just stops. And half the time I wind up getting a Big Mac that isn’t even close to what I said.

I enjoyed the Doubled up Mac.

It seemed like they used real beef. :laughing

Infidel!

Werd. On a regular Big Mac I yank the middle bun out. Acceptable ratio. I also am not usually a fan of any sauce, just a ketchup dunk for my burgers (soggy bread no good).

Double Big Mac and an extra slice of cheese is the way. Too bad last time I went they didn’t give me a double. I get home and only 2 patties but somehow they put on the extra slice of cheese.

I also ordered 40 spicy nuggets in the hopes some of them were fresh. Turns out every single box of 10 had a mix of hot and fresh and cold and old nuggets. :nchantr

The buns are supposed to be toasted before assembly on the Big Mac so there's no reason the bread should be soggy in the first place.

I never noticed toasted Big Mac buns, hah. I always order dry burgers including In-N-Out. For some reason the Big Mac is my only exception and I leave the sauce.

Don’t know how you could even taste the meat with all the mayo mustard and goop people put on their burgers.
Cheese lettuce tomato and sometimes bacon is the extent of how exotic my order gets. They don’t need a single other topping.

It's almost like different people like different things.

Applies to music also. I guess you wouldn’t be the sort to comment on someone else’s musical tastes right

Eh. I've reached a point where I try not to criticize people's taste in things. People like what they like. Doesn't mean I didn't criticize those things from my own POV. But "I don't know how anyone likes x" is a dumb question. Of course you don't.

Still catch myself doing it sometimes. But I'm working on it.

So what was it? Ok, it's a dumb statement. Whatever.

Burgers need some sort of binder. A dry burger sucks. For me, it's just a bit of ketchup and mustard...emphasis on JUST a bit. No reason to go overboard and honestly, if I'm making it myself, mayonnaise is not getting anywhere near it. :green

I get that "special sauce" has mayonnaise in it, but it's just different if I don't have to see it being put together. :laughing
