Since this thread has attracted more attention than it really should which makes it sooo funny...here is the latest scoop that will include some shameless plugs to help the less fortunate!!


So...I AM the "sponsor" Koi speaks of when he mentioned someone came forward to front the costs. I am not a rich woman (damn, who is with two bikes in the garage now!)..but I knew if we waited for everyone to pay up for a patch..it would never get done. The patch maker needs mula up front. So I told Koi privately I would front it and hopefully we just slowly recoup the cost ( I think that is how the guy who bought all teh BARF license plates is doing it..but he has more to sell off!)

IT REALLY WAS A FREAKING JOKE when Koi said you can donate and MAY OR MAY NOT get a patch..don;t be silly people..you send money..you get a patch!


So here is my new proposition. I am going to DONATE the costs of the first run of patches..probably 100..still deciding. I know I want a few myself to keep and trade for future patches

now..here comes the shameless plug to help the less fortunate. In my world..that is the kittiez! I foster bottle baby kittens for a Napa based rescue group called Whiskers, Tails and Ferals. There are donation only based group rescuing neighborhood animals as well as helping Napa county shelter become a "no kill shelter" by taking almost all of their overflow that would be otherwise "killed" since they are really a "kill shelter"..sad...anyhoo...


So..instead of asking for money that will just go back into my bank account to cover what I paid out..I will be asking for a donation in exchange for patches and 50% of the proceeds will go to BARF and the other 50% will be going to Whiskers, Tails and Ferals. I don't care if you buy the patch, we mail it and you burn it, eat it or wipe your behind with it..just know that your donation will go to two worthy causes.


Now..can we just end this discussion now?? Please! Rod summed it up nicely..seems a bit silly now over a patch! But we like the idea of the patch and some day..I am sure i will have a whole collection of patches on my jacket!! Maybe even some secret decoder rings, decals and Wheaties box covers! Yowza!

I thought this was a community that loves to ride and says they support their fellow riders, I'm not see that? Koi and us Misfits have the same interests as you say you guys have, Hell He is offering up patches to sell to help keep Barf alive and well. I know I'm about ready to cancell my Barf membership, You guys treat new people like shit, If we can withstand the hazing and being called trolls then we gain your respect! FUCK THAT!!

Okay...so I was getting a teeny jealous that Koi has a patch..so had to have my own. Now this one will be VERY LIMITED edition..may have two of us that will want to sport this one..but I had to show the love to my BFF and obviously a fellow cat lover (unless she is really a motorcycle riding cat?!)

look at your own post in comparison to what other's have posted. other people were voicing their opinions on the matter since it's a public forum. You're here calling everyone a bitch, unreasonable e-bashers, and scared (since we're all hiding behind a computer apparently?). I am actually disappointed that Dennis gave his permission. I have contributed to BARF, thinking that IT was the community. Now, I am excluded from YOUR little community, because I don't have a F'ing Koi patch. I find it insulting from someone who joined this year. But, I can vote with my dollars, can't I?

The responses alone this is getting makes me want one of the patches....LOL. Let me know when they're printed up Koi....

When you have one day off a week that you can dedicate to then you use all of it... If I wanted to wait around til 2pm for people to get out of bed, I'd start doing heroin... yeah I just went there.

Tina..would love to meet you some day..seeing you are in our neck of the woods..we REALLY are not as scary as we are sounding here..we really do have riders of all levels..some who NEVER drop their bikes or ride slow...and we won't make ya wear a patch!

I am also down for other group rides..weekdays are hard..work gets in the way..pesky job! But I do work from home and get out late afternoons before the sun go down..we do Berryessa quite regularly when we can..or jaunts around Napa/Sonoma. Koi is always planning something because he is always the most proactive and creative! Thas why we luvz him! He gets it done!

Anyhoo..we do hope to meet some you peeps in person and not just argue with you on BARF all day and night..tho that can be fun too!

Scary isn't a big deal as most of the people on BARF are scary in one way or another.

I'm always game for meeting new people, thats what makes this place so amazing, you meet someone new every time you attend a meet, ride, party, whatever.

I don't have a working bike so I don't ride, but if theres a meet that works with my all over the place schedule then I'll give it the old college try to be there. Those Sunday morning breakfast meets are pretty tough for me as I normally work late nights on Saturday and I'm not a morning person by nature. Have an afternoon or evening thing and I'm game.
