Wow who woulda thought a patch poll would ignite the fires of so much passion here? Koi you've apparently hit some BARFers' tenderest patches with all this renegade separatist inflammatory propositioning (and not always being read too carefully). This is far too racey, too inciting, ya damn instigator, can't ya see that?
This thread reminds me of the occasional (oh no you didnt go there) argument with my poppa, a briliant man but sometimes I think he just wants to be contrary and see if he can rile me up, other times he just has a different (wrong -- haha) opinion and even agreeing to disagree will get you nowhere. There are some things that are just better off left not asked.

Religion, racism, abortion rights, ATG, the right way to countersteer, and now Barf sub patch. Perhaps a more intimate venue for topics of such delicate nature would yield a more productive convo?

Which is exactly the opposite of any Misfit meet I've participated in and the goal of future meets, we welcome all noob's and make a point of welcoming them and getting to know them. We welcome all riders no matter what skill level, age level, background, race, creed, religion... Everyone was a noob at sometime in their life and I think encouraging noobs is better then blowing them off and making them not welcome, or feel that they aren't good enough to participate in ride's and that they need to go gain experience on their own before they are welcome....

We've gone through this with many a n00b and its always the same complaint by said n00b. I showed up, nobody held my hand, so I'm going home and complaining on BARF.

Look, we don't hang banners and wear vests, we're a group of people hangin out. If you show up and truly want to participate you'll do what all of us have done in the past, walk up, introduce yourself and start yackin it up. We have meets at public places, we don't walk up to every person cuz odds are they aren't there for our meet, so if you you don't take the initiative we won't know you're a BARFer.

This was a BARF wedding/Wednesday night Skips meet.

Honestly... after the discussion we had when I was asking for advice on the design... only 1 would be needed to ask me not to do a patch with the BARF logo displayed here on the website... and that would be Budman... Since the huge outcry before about me attempting this and the outrage that I had not consulted with him first, he would be the one who's opinion I would respect on the issue... but only about using the logo directly from the website.... And since he has not only given permission for us to use the four letters, "A", "B", "F", and "R" in whichever order we choose, as well as given me permission to use the logo directly from the website, I'm not sure what to tell you all.

If I or anyone else on this planet wants to make a patch with their own money using the word "Barf", the word "Misfits", and the image of a koi fish, that does not directly copy/use any of the imagery from this website, unfortunately there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it...

If I was going to make a patch with barf on it I would listen to what barfers have to say about it.

The cries of you guys just don't get it are laughable. Everyone in this thread gets it but a few in your group. Why do you think you keep and 'explaining' yourself over and over and over?

It's clear if we have to keep explaining it you won't understand.

Frankly the more you guys throw fits the less I want to be associated with you or your patch, as it says a lot. Since you include us in your patch we are telling you what we think. Maybe it should be throw fits instead of misfits?

I think I still might try and come ride with you guys/gals and try to get a patch. Only because that would piss people off. Oh and I don't think it would make misfits mad, trololol.

I got a bike. Went searching on the internet for a club and found BARF. I started showing up at their rides and events and became friends. I then went to events they had and made more friends. Now after being out of the loop for over 1 year BARF had changed some, but the same old faces still welcome me as they always did.

BUT I First had to make the effort to hang with them. No one babysitted me. I just did my best and we did not have sweeps just leaders who I did not know. It was just go for it. I even lost the group on one of my first rides and no one went looking for me.

I had to find my own way home.

The bolded part is WRONG ! If you participated beyond your lil group of "misfits" you'd realize that and understand where most are coming from.

Actually I have..and yes..for most part everyone I have met has been friendly and social..but I think the few who tend to protest the loudest or poke fun of our little group...may just not like our over friendliness here on the forums. We do tend to be more chatty and vocal before, during and after our rides..than most group rides I see here in general..not BASHING..just observing. We all do happily jump into other group rides or social gatherings..we have crossposted our breakfast rides on a "neighboring" Meetup.com group which not only brings us more rider buddies but hopefully introduces new folks to BARF. It's all good! We welcome all...if ya ever want to come over to our neck of the woods and eat and ride with us great..if not..fabulous...get on wit your bad self and do your thang!! No harm no foul!


That's all it is..those of you reading one or two posts here and blowing all of this out of proporation are just doing that...you are reading way too much into all this and who and what we are. Kinda silly now..but we appreciate all the OG's, FG, MG, AG, BG, GG, HG and whatever the hell G's that have popped in to say hello and have fun in this thread..I think we may just have to throw some honorary patches your way for playing with us here! One day you will thank us when they are collector's items..and you will find it hard to get one to trade for the other patches that are soon to follow.. I will trade one of my koi patches for the FG patch mentioned earlier...do it..sounds cool!! hehehehee!!

Weekdays suck for me to make anything as I have to work at 0-dark 30 most mornings... But definitely thank's for the invite and offer of a ride to this... Any Sunday/Monday rides/meets I'm down for depending on previous engagements.

How I miss those days. What happened you guys.

I think everyone tired of the same place every week and the semi unwillingness to travel has made doing a weekly meet tough. I know for me, personally my work schedule got in the way and I my lack of transportation, but thats changing so I'm gonna work on things.

Tina..would love to meet you some day..seeing you are in our neck of the woods..we REALLY are not as scary as we are sounding here..we really do have riders of all levels..some who NEVER drop their bikes or ride slow...and we won't make ya wear a patch!

I am also down for other group rides..weekdays are hard..work gets in the way..pesky job! But I do work from home and get out late afternoons before the sun go down..we do Berryessa quite regularly when we can..or jaunts around Napa/Sonoma. Koi is always planning something because he is always the most proactive and creative! Thas why we luvz him! He gets it done!

Anyhoo..we do hope to meet some you peeps in person and not just argue with you on BARF all day and night..tho that can be fun too!

1. BARF should not be included on the patch. Leave BARF out of it.

2. Not right to ask for donations from the general BARF community.

3. The fish theme is stupid.

4. The original posting is too long and complicated.

5. Misfits MC might kick someone's ass (forgetting they gave permisson).

6. Need to get permission from Budman (forgetting this was already done).

7. It's a clique.

8. BARF patches should support BARF financially.

9. Koi is a narcissist.

10. Donors "may or may not get a patch."

11. Some don't really care.

12. Ninja editing was committed 4 minutes after the original posting.

13. BARF will smell of fish.

14. The misfits are too stupid, slow, happy, silly and gay.

15. The misfits should not feel alienated.

15. Connie might get pregnant.

16. Budman screwed up by giving permission.

17. The misfits are excluding people.

18. It insults people who donated to BARF.

19. Non-misfit votes don't count.

20. The patch designs all suck.

22. Riding to Napa takes too long.

23. Nobody wants Koi as their leader.
