If you fit the stereotype of something.... your welcome as well....

I am actually disappointed that Dennis gave his permission. I have contributed to BARF, thinking that IT was the community. Now, I am excluded from YOUR little community, because I don't have a F'ing Koi patch. I find it insulting from someone who joined this year. But, I can vote with my dollars, can't I?

Dude, lighten up, Koi is just having some fun with the patch thing. You wanna join in, just show up! No dues, no patch, no secret handshake required. We all know Barf has cliques -- just try going as a newbie to a regular meetup to see that in action. Misfits are the solution to that, not the problem. Jeez.

Oh and I'm still not a misfit.

My first Barf meet I showed up, and walked around looking for anything that said Barf, didn't, and went home disappointed.

I'd fully agree with this Rod... and yes you are... you started the misfits with your amcan/napa breakfast ride's... It was that ride that encouraged me to participate in another, to post my own rides, to help my fellow noobs, to post mellow ride's and encourage other's to come out of hiding, hell, you taught me how to post a map on BARF

Maybe we need a quick re-patch???

personally i think the section that pretty much says "if you're not a misfit, ur vote wont count" aka..barfer's vote isnt as valuable as misfit's vote.

it was more of a caveot so that if there's a OT conspiracy and we suddenly get 50 vote's for something like this.......

Not that I'm saying this is out... just saying.....

..........The actual misfit's who want to wear the patch can overrule the BARF masses that don't really care and never planned on wearing a patch/wanting a patch.

He gave me the go ahead and the info on his font for that so I whipped something up quickly here to give us an idea... being your desire I'm letting you go with the design so if you feel something needs to be different, let me know

ill be honest, I dnt have an issue with the koi mascot, but none of those designs are very good IMO.

the patch itself should be a koi, wrapped in a circle, with the misfits thing in the middle with barf.

If I had the artistic talent to do such a thing... I'd actually like to make a Ying-Yang symbol using koi fish and have Barf and Misfit's overlay that....

But I dont' have the talent and no one volunteered to help so we went with wot we had

A Koi Fish, or the word "Koi's" but I figured an actual fish would be a better image on a patch then just words IMO.... a necessity

after that no requirements, keep simple on colors though as most of the patch places won't be able to do wild color designs

Pretty much this.

Of course you can!

MY little community is the BARF community... the patch is for those who ride with us Misfits in the North Bay and is not exclusive to them... we have Misfits from Oakland, SF, East Bay, and all over the north bay. They have come out to a breakfast club, or a sunday ride, or a PLP day, or whatever and enjoyed the ride.... The MISFITS are not exclusive to anyone, hence why we are a group of Misfits.... We ride as BARF members, and those we meet, we recommend BARF to them as well...

If it makes you feel better, yes you can vote with your dollars, come out to one of our rides in the next few weeks and ride with us, donate to us, eat with us, laugh with us, complain with us, whatever. In doing so you would then make us more likely to care what you think when it comes to what patch we wear.

You could also wait til they are on the BARF store... as we plan on donating some to the site to not only thank BARF but to help contribute to keeping this site going...

I think you're missing the point of his post. I would suggest taking a look at the "contributor" status under his name, and the contributor status under your name. Ima go out on a limb and say I don't think he's offering to donate to your patch fund...
Personally, I don't care what patch you guys wear, do your own thing (and more power to you!)... just keep BARF off of it. BARF IS the community- NO ONE is excluded, because we don't form our own secret community within the community with patches and handshakes and decoder rings... and neither should you.
I think it's great that you've been here less than 6 months, and already feel so at home that you actually want to stake out your own territory up there in the north bay and own your peeps... Which, I suppose, just goes to show how truly welcoming and inclusive BARF is... just as it is.
