NFL 2018/2019 Thread

Greatness? Hmmm...I'll give you "mystique" as in it's a mystery as to why the Raiders have sucked as hard as they have for the past fifteen years or so. Granted the suckage from from the early 2000s til about 2011 was completely the Lich King's fault. Why did the people around him allow it to happen? The last six or so years though? Especially the last two? Truly an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, tied with a question mark. :twofinger

My 9ers have never assumed any mantle of "mystique" :x When we suck there is no doubt. :laughing

you know it when you have it.
when you don't, you'll never know.

It's ok to not understand :)

Really, tho? I mean...the part of mystique that's enticing is it's mystery and can anyone truly know that which remains mysterious?

I've got it! Only the deluded truly understand the mysterious! WOW! I feel like I've solved one of life's great mysteries. I finally understand why Raiders' fans always think they are going to win the SB every year. Not nearly as cool as curing cancer or figuring out how byke's mind works...but still...I think I may be up for a Nobel prize maybe? :laughing:twofinger

yes, WE can truly know. It will always be a mystery to others, though.

Dude, the Raiders are one of the worst teams ever. They have been garbage for all of but like 3 of the last 35 years. They literally have like 1 good year per decade. If they hadn't been lucky enough to get one of the greatest coaches of all time and outrageously dominant in the late 60's and the 70's as a result, they might be the worst team in NFL history, although the Lions and Bucs are pretty hell bent on that title.

Foster's domestic violence charges dropped AND the weapon charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.

..., although the Lions and Bucs are pretty hell bent on that title.

At least the Bucs have won a SB this century (against the Raiders :rofl). The Browns have been waving their resume as one of the worst teams in recent history too.

The Browns are even worse than the Raiders over the last 35 years, like, they lose so much it is highly statistically improbable, but as long as Jim Brown is still alive, you have to fear them a little just because his 80 year old ass may still come find you and put a hurt on you...

and it was the best 3 years in the NFL ever!

Raiders fans born after 1983 be like " 2000-2002 FO' LIFE!!!!"

You have to be careful with Eldy. He has a habit of slipping in disparate thoughts and ends up covering both sides of any argument ensuring you always have something upon which to agree...well, except when it comes to the Iggles or anything Philly related. :laughing

P.S. I looked up the Raiders' history. They had 10 losing seasons in their first forty-two years in the league with only three instances where they had more than a single losing season in a row. They've really sucked since 2002 but the overall trajectory of the franchise was positive.

I really feel cheated by the Murphy's football gods for NY not taking Mayfield. So much material for digging at Eldy is going to go to waste now. :cry

Head to head the raiders have more wins, no arguing that. But don't drop that mic so quickly.

AFC west titles, Denver and raiders are tied at 15 apiece

AFC titles, Denver 8, raiders 4. (one of Denver's AFC titles was against the raiders)

Superbowl wins, 3 each

Although, tied in AFC west titles and Superbowls, with three more AFC titles Denver is the more successful franchise. Besides, Denver has never screwed over its fans by moving to another city :twofinger
