big ben surely played a role in ab's success. and carr cannot keep a play alive like ben can/could. but, gotta give ab some credit here. he's a generational talent. it still took ab to do what ab did.

if the o-line holds up, carr can deliver and ab will get many, many chances in gruden's system. he'll work him around the field like he did tim brown. it'll be glorious

or

the o-line gets multiple injuries (Jackson's already down for a while), carr has no time, jacobs gets hurt and/or is a bust, and ab mentally checks out.

I give it even odds.

I am so gun-shy of Raiders fortunes that I can't even feel good about these wins. The tea leaves seem right, but we've been burned so many times before. My biggest takeaway is that the Cardinals are still gonna suck but with some kind of increased completions here and there. I mean, hiring Kingsbury was just kind of brain-dead anyway (oooooooh, he's sorta "like" McVey!)

no designed runs for Murray in the preseason. Extremely vanilla offensive scheme from Kingsbury. Can't take much away from the game, maybe that ARZs o-line is still crap.


good execution by the Raiders, and efficient 1st team offense...I'll give them that. Damn, Trent Brown is a giant! I can't believe Incognito looks small next to him, lol.

It is preseason. I don't even usually watch it except I wanted to see if Dan Jones could throw.

LOT of OC like to save their trick plays for the real season, and just do the basic stuff in Preseason. It is hard to believe that guy won't be running for his life all year in the regular season. Fitz is some kind of magic football demigod, and I'm kind of sad he'll never get a ring, but he is old and can olnly save so much. Run, Kyler, Run...
 
Yeh, it's true. But just to see the Raiders actually functioning with backup QBs seems.....important, notable, I dunno....heck, Mark Davis even got rid of his Prince Valiant hairdo. As the Romans might say, it augurs well. Nyuk.

No a lot of teams who are not super interested in their backup cut to 2. The Giants traditionally only have 2 since 2004, because Mannings are invincible.

With all the specialty demands on rosters it’s normal to cut to two, but stock the third on the practice squad. Or add him the second week.
Under the CBA all 53 signed on opening day get paid for the year. And QBs are typically more expensive.
