NFL 2019

I kinda wanted Suggs for Niners. Oh well.

Hey, didya hear Mark Davis' response to the softball question about whether he felt or had any nostalgia at last game.

Something like, "no, already went through it in 82. Nope"

If there was ever a bigger verbal FU to fans, I don't know what it was. What a heartless prick. Really. He is really good at tarnishin the shield, as they say. Showing people that to be a loyal fan is worse than pointless.

I dunno, maybe he was drinkin and mad at loss.

It was asked before the game... and after yesterday, don't let the door hit ya, Mark. :laughing

In other news: Josh Gordon suspended yet again....

Maybe he was demonstrating, once again, that he has absolutely zero class.

Like he said, Al did this in '82. It is why the Raider excitement always perplexes me. Like, not only is this a team that is terrible and has been terrible for decades, the Team has wildly disrespected their fanbase multiple times over the years.

I do no know how anybody from the Bay Area would want to wear their Jersey after some shit like this.

the league apologized for blowing Carr's inbound slide by ruling it out of bounds and playing a huge part in the raiders losing. Never ever seen it called like they did.

F the league fopr their raiders hate...they knew what they were doing. they wanted to give oakland one last FU while they could.

They deserve it. The Raiders should never be forgiven for what a shit Al Davis was until his bloodline has left the league and no longer owns a team. ;)

Let them tank a few years in Vegas and Mark will probably sell it off, don't worry. Then all can be forgiven.

I’m back to only following the Cougs/Pac10 action (Utah and Colorado can piss off :twofinger)

Bowl cut owner and bowl cut coach deserve what they get. Vegas is going to overpower them and I hope the NFL forces out silver spoon bowl cut Gump Davis. He has no love for the legacy of the Raiders and Gruden is coaching like he's the ghost of Bill Walsh's west coast offense. Carr was done the day Gruden signed. He's done more regression under Gruden and I think if Mayock had his way, they'd be running a different offense. Mayock is the only good thing about the Raiders.

The Raiders are the end result of bargain shopping every aspect of their team, including players, coaches, stadiums, etc.

They probably nickel and dime the players at every opportunity, I know they did with their cheerleaders.

Just a cheap-assed organization showing the end results of neglect and piss poor management. They're a reflection of their owner, shitty hair cut and poor bone structure.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, the whole region is done with their traitorous asses. I doubt they will be welcomed back again by more than a small handful of people.

I was wondering about whether people will continue to wear all the silver and black gear from here on out, or whether there will actually be any bonfires.

People get mad at me for saying it, but I always thought at the heart of Raider fandom are somewhat like abused children whose Daddy issues result in strange almost religious deference and respect to Al Davis. All that "Mr. Davis" shit always made a bit nausesous. Yes, the guy was in it early to set milestones for the future but he proved over and over again to be a heartless megalomaniac, and now his messed-up manchild doesn't even have actual history of doing anything of value but is trying to assume the position.

Will this move actually be "it?" I really don't know.

Why would anyone love a legacy that consists almost completely of non-stop losing, shitty failures as a football team, and fans paying to put up billboards telling your Dad to stop being terrible? The Raiders legacy of 60 years had one good stretch of 15 where they were consistently good, all due to lucking into one of the greatest coaches of all time, the 5 years before Madden were crap, and the next 40 years after Madden's boy Flores started to fail were almost all crap.

I feel like the people who believe in the Raiders as anything but garbage most be like from some kind of specific age group that grew up watching football in the 60's and 70's and it made some kind of intense impression on them that they have never gotten past in the 4 decades following it.

Rhetorical, right? :laughing

No, I mean, I would love to hear an answer. The only Raiders that have ever justified their shit to me are ones that talk about the Madden era. I know some of them say it has some shit to do with East Bay pride, but they fucking had alreayd abandoned the East Bay once before this time. Support the A's before Oakland chases them out of town for fucks sake.

It has always seemed to me like asking a chick in an abusive relationship why she doesn't leave the dude that beats her ass. There is just a self esteem problem that gets in the way of Raiders fans moving on.

Okay, you do battered spouse and I'll do battered children. Same thing really and I agree. It's the only way to explain it, that weird mixture of loyalty, fear and overall probably intoxicated enthusiasm.

I will say that the athletes themselves should be excluded from all of this, though some have certainly tried to promote the brand, as it were.

I stopped being a Raider fan when they moved to LA. In the olden days, that was really an insult to a Norcal type. PS. Glad Madbum went somewhere besides LA even if in division.
