You know, I ain't mad. I understand why they took Dan Jones. He makes a lot of sense and I am totally willing to invest in him as the guy 1-2 years from now. I think they took him too high at #6, but I understand that waiting for #17 to get him was a risk, and when you think you have your guy, you go get him.
The trade to Seattle was a good deal if you ask me. Trading a 2nd, 4th, and 5th to get into the 1st round for the best CB in the draft makes sense to me too, since we had the draft capital to expend. I am little confused that he skipped on Greedy Williams, but I have to trust the scouts on that one.
I will make decisions after I see these kids play. 1st Round we hit DT, CB, AND QB, which were all big positions of need. I ain't mad. I worry a little bit that we have no 2nd round left to address the O-Line, but we'll see how it goes.

First Round kids are all given opportunities to take nice short term loans due when they get their first contract done, so a lot of them have money by the time their draft capital is determined.
There is also a small industry of custom tailors and jewelers that cater to the, "bling," crowd (mainly pro athletes, actors, and musicians who frequent awards shows and media events) that will allow high round picks to borrow or rent their merchandise for the marketing exposure of their product.

My Cousin Greyson mainly played just on the practice squad for the Raiders, he was signed as an UFA, and he had a monstrous diamond earring stud he would wear. That is just American Athlete Culture.
You get the occasional down home boy who still drives his old pick up truck to practice, doesn't spend much except the farm he bought back home, but they always get clowned for it by the guys.

Yeah, it is a damn shame. The Giants picks at DB seem to be cursed. 2nd year in a row. This guy may not be seriously injured, but apparently his friend who was there was killed. I haven't heard yet if the injuries are serious.
Sam Beal was supposed to be some genius Draft Gold, but we will have to wait this year to see if it is real I guess.

make that 3! All of them look pretty good too. that last one...have you seen the catches that guy makes? hands-catches. big-game catches. Apparently Clemson fans would call him "3rd and Renfrow". this guy could be the starting slot receiver for a long time.

Yeah, I'm not unhappy with the Raiders draft at all, they addressed quite a few of their pressing issues, they all had pretty solid college careers in big time programs.
